What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Got off of work a little early today and since it stormed this morning I decided to try T W O brand new products today...DIY Detail RW v2 & ADS Amplify as a drying aid on the EN[emoji41]

I did the RW using the GD method using five 500 GSM Eagle edgeless microfiber towels, 1 random mf towel for the tires & wheels. For drying I used my trusty Gauntlet drying towel...still THEE best[emoji106][emoji106]

I mixed up 2 oz of v2 into 3.5 gallons of water and moved around the EN, using ADS Amplify as a drying aid and I can honestly say it was PURE JOY! It dried easier as my Gauntlet got a little more damp but...NO STREAKS LEFT BEHIND[emoji16]

Used the leftover on the tires & wheels and it worked great, dried VERY nicely, couldn't be happier! I'm looking forward to using v2 by itself to see how it dries, I expect to be no problem [emoji2369]

I see Mike G just dropped his review of v2, timing is perfect as I just used it for the first time today, curious to see what Mike has to say...stay "tuned"[emoji848]

Man, I'm getting version fatigue...

It's great that companies are improving their products but you lose track of what version you have or is on the shelf somewhere for sale.

Going forward there will only be v2[emoji118]

Doesn't mean that there isn't some v1 on the shelf somewhere. I think I got mine at TCG and that's v1. For now, I'll use it up but any future purchase won't be before using ADS Hero (maybe after vacay for that).

Maybe give Gyeon ECO wash RW a try when the time comes[emoji848] Sorry, I'm a Gyeon fanboy...for a reason[emoji779]️

I've been swaying between Amplify and Adapt as a drying aid. At the moment Amplify seems a touch easier to use, flashing away quicker with less towel work.

The weather has been like this since Sunday afternoon

I needed to get the little blue car washed so I fired up the rinseless process

Prespray with ONR V5 at 1oz to 1 gallon with the garden sprayer

McKees N914 old version with 500 gm edgeless towels

Hit it and get it

It’s super humid today and I’ve been trying to use the last couple of ounces of old style OCW and for the second time in a few weeks it was super streaky and grabby and fought me all the way

I gave up like last time and reached for 3D Bead it Up like last time and it worked much better

The matte plastic trim absolutely loves Bead it Up, it looks perfect

I’m going to leave the last of the OCW for the lawnmower and snowblower

It didn’t turn out half bad

Got some reflection going on even on this cloudy day

This bugs the crap out of me too, probably because I almost always manage to buy the old stuff about 13 minutes before the new stuff comes out

I guess I need to tune in better to the product rumor mill

Sap maintence touch-free wash using Sudslab ZERO Acid wheel cleaner, no brushes and a Griot's Garage Snow Foam pre-wash/dwell/rinse and dry...feel much better[emoji56]

Now I'm about to take the wife's Cruze through the touch-free car wash[emoji6]

Did I miss something?

I just noticed a couple of streaks I missed yesterday and decided to give this another try

I had tried it as a drying aid on the ceramic coated car and honestly I saw nothing redeeming in how it performed

I just don’t get this stuff

It’s so incredibly thin it almost seems thinner than water, although I guess that doesn’t necessarily matter

A tiny spray just keeps spreading and spreading as you try to mop it up and get it to flash and dry

I must have spread the one tiny spritz over half the hood before it began flashing and I could get the towel to pick up the excess

It didn’t feel slick at all

As a control I put one tiny spray of this on the other side of the hood and it did exactly what you would expect it to do

I tried 3 different towels with the Suds Lab spray and it made no difference

I’m only bringing this up because Klasse used some Suds Lab wheel cleaner the other day and you don’t hear the brand mentioned very often

I’m going to keep the bottle of detailer and try it on bird bombs or bugs or tree residue or something and see if I can find a use for it but even at the Walmart prices I’m not sure I would try any other products from their line

Did a sap maintenance RW for car meet up tonight[emoji16]

I used CarPro Ech2o and the problem with having 8 RW choices is which one to use, they all work great, atleast the ones I have. So I've only got a little bit of WGU left, literally and figuratively my oldest RW, used it last weekend IIRC and it still works great, today's choice was something I'll always buy again when I'm out...CarPro Ech2o [emoji56]

I used 2 oz to 3.5 gallons of water and performed the GD method and while the EN wasn't bad, well other than the sap spots, this product still impresses with gloss, slickness and how it dries[emoji106][emoji106]

I know it's labeled as a WW and I've found it's too fussy when used like that, so I've been using it as a RW for many years and haven't looked back! That said, I moved the EN into the shade and did larger sections at a time and it was starting to dry up but no problem, my damp Gauntlet towel just dried it up nicely[emoji6]

Before that RW I cleaned the tires & wheels with Sudslab XA wheel cleaner, still full strength but used my brushes for a more complete cleaning. I had 9 oz left and added 9 oz distilled water for a 1:1 ratio, we'll see how that does next time around. For a product sold exclusively through Mal-Wart, it's not too bad and priced fairly but a top tip, don't let it dry on the wheels, it can stain, happened on my g/f's Cruze last time I took it through the touch-free wash. I sprayed it twice while waiting to go through and once home I noticed stains, gotta hand polish those out[emoji2369][emoji3061]

Looking forward to going out later, it's 100% perfect today, couldn't be nicer here in Chicagoland [emoji779]️[emoji779]️

So the touch-free wash yesterday didn't even come close to getting my g/f's Cruze clean yesterday, no pre-wash probably didn't help, so this morning I handled this[emoji6]

I grabbed DIY Detail v2 RW and got after it. This time I used the 2BM and my trusty Legacy sponge and knocked it out, no problems. The leftover I used on her tires & wheels and as you can see the TW Mr. Cartoon Tire Coat is doing a good job still[emoji106][emoji106]

This DIY Detail v2 RW is worth a visit if you wanna try something new or need a replacement product[emoji118]

Good grief. 53-hour week. Had to work 6 hours Saturday. Recouped somewhat last night and hit the driveway 5:45 AM this morning. Basic wash/detail on the truck. Finished with wet wax as the drying aiid. Took a short break then cut grass. DONE. Try to enjoy the rest of the day!!
