What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

With daylight hours quickly diminishing, it looks like it’s getting into rinseless season. I did have quite a bit of mud on the sides from driving around on wet roads after Helene dumped about 6 inches of rain on my city. I foamed on Reset and followed up with Eco Wash and dressed the tires with Darkside. I do like the glow my car gives in the setting sun. The darkening effect of Gyeon Syncro is noticeable when there is no glare or shadows.

Me too, it's similar to Mazda's Soul Red, I see a few around that look amazing, but I just can't replicate it in photos, even when I try to take the shot through my sunglasses, thinking the tint and polarising filter enhance it.

The Qashqai got driven today, and came back with oily finger prints, fortunately that was all. It did give me a chance to test out Ech2o on top of the Blue Velvet again, this time with a non plush MF. I didn't have to go over everything, just a few select areas, front of the hood, around the door handles, and near the back hatch. It seems like the plush MF was what caused the smearing issue. No problem at all this time, I used my LED Lenser headlamp to give maximum visibility.PSX_20241001_161703.jpgPSX_20241001_161513.jpg

Got off of work a little early, so I came home, parked under the shade tree, pulled up ESPN radio to listen to my Detroit Tigers take on the Houston Astros in game #1 of the wildcard playoffs (3-0 in the 4th inning as I post this), this is pure old school for me, beautiful day, ballgame on & washing the car

A DIY Detail RW v2 was dialed up today and it's a pure clean, very easy and while the EN didn't look "that dirty" my rinse bucket said the opposite! I used the 2BM method, which I prefer btw, and it's C L E A N

After the car was done I used the leftover on the tires, wheels and wheelwells as well as an engine bay wipedown...perfect

Well no pics but I got out my steamer and used it to clean all the interior glass, dash, door panels, etc on my Tacoma. Then dressed them with a new product for me. I mixed up some Aqua Gloss from Superior Products at 4:1. Turned out well. Tomorrow it will get a rinseless wash and afterwards going to put on a coat of spray wax.
Last week I washed it, clay bared, panel prep them applied some Jescar Powerlock with the DA. Probably been close to a year since I used Powerlock as I have been using Seal & Shine. I like Powerlock.

Saw these in bass pro online and immediately thought they’d be great for detailing brushes.

My large floating shelves are all wood so I can screw these straight into them in any spot.

$29.99 for both of these.

What started out as bird bomb removal, 3 of them, ended with a QD of all the painted surfaces on the FJ, then some glass cleaning. Since I used TWHS Ceramic Wet Wax after the last wash, I went with their Ceramic 3 in 1 Quick Detailer today, and Krystal Klear Bubblegum Blitz on the glass. I didn't touch any of the lower black trim, there is some mud splash down there.PSX_20241002_171001.jpgPSX_20241002_171229.jpgPSX_20241002_171511.jpg

So this mourning I washed my Tacoma with ONR. Afterwards I waxed it with Turtle Wax Ice spray wax to top the Jescar Powerlock I put on it last week.
So this is my daily driver a 2013 Tacoma that I bought new, So I’ve had it 11 years and plan on having it 11 more. It has 95K on the clock. 4 cylinder, manual 5 speed.
After washing it I dressed the tires with Aqua Gloss from Superior Products. The front tires I did at 1:1 and the rears I did at 2:1. This was first time using the Aqua Gloss so that’s the reason for the two dilutions. Think the fronts are too glossy so going forward guess I’ll go with 2:1.

Finally one from a good angle. As long as I’m posting pics thought I’d post a couple of my Chevelle. It’s a 69 SS. I’ve had it for 25 years and have done tons of projects on it. I also have a 21 Mustang GT convertible. I’m a huge car guy.

That Chevelle is awesome, especially with the Torque Thrusts

It's a real SS. I pulled the numbers matching 396 from it in 2018, which I have socked away. It now has a 496 with 600 horsepower and a 5 speed manual transmission. Nobody but me has worked on it in last 25 years. Although I had it painted in 2016. I'm not much of a body guy so I had a resto shop paint it. That's the original color, Garnet Red.

I'm self testing my self here...are those 275/60's on the rear of the Chevelle?

Good eye. Yes they are 275/60s on 15 inch wheels. The wheels are similar to Torque Thrusts but they are Rev Classics (brand). They have been on there 10 years or so.
I'm not a huge fan of factory wheels especially on Classics. Some are OK. Black seems to be the go to on factory wheels today. I had to order that Mustang and I think they offered 5 or 6 wheel choices. All but 1 choice were black.
Here is a humorous tidbit about my Mustang. When one buys a new car it comes with a full tank of gas. We'll when I went to pick up my new Mustang I had to drive it to the gas station and the salesman followed me as nobody at the dealership could drive a manual transmission.

I'll always like Vette rallies w/67 disc brake caps and smooth trim rings on any classic Chevy, in addition to Torque Thrusts or ones styled similarly

I also like modern sized "Magnum 500 style" rims too
