What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Sorry about the lighting and angle, its not the biggest garage but a garage nonetheless

Perfect wash day, no sun, mild temps, and almost no wind. I got to take my time with the FJ, removing the dirt of the last few weeks, and yesterday. Started on the tyres with TWHS Hyperfoam and a Little Stiffy brush from Bowden's, I even did the spare.PSX_20251025_172442.jpg

Then foamed it with Eclipse Hyper Foam, that's not confusing at all.PSX_20251025_172329.jpg

One bucket wash with Bowden's Nanolicious Wash before moving it back inside to dry, it's just easier doing it on level ground, used After Glow as a drying aid with a Liquid8r.PSX_20251025_172547.jpg

Finished off with Carpro Clarify Phobic on the glass and Bowden's Sweet Rubber on the tyres.PSX_20251025_172738.jpg

I received an order from Adams and tried out a few products.... I was sneezing a lot so sense of smell may be off.

Adam Glass Cleaner - nice light scent, feels more surfactant (?) based than Stoners, wet surface surface differently than Stoners (better). flashes quickly and wipes of easily. The description claims it is silane based and from what I can determine it is to prevent fogging, etc. Have not used it enough to judge cleaning but fine so far.

Adam's Tire and Rubber cleaner - On rubber mats, no chemical smell, tight soapy foam when agitated with a brush, rinsed easily. I need to test on tires so jury is out. I wanted a cleaner other than Optimum Power Clean or MK37 all purpose cleaner, Reminds me of Mothers Back to Black Tire Renew.

Adam's Interior Detailer (Eucalyptus Mint Scent) - light non perfume scent, seemed to work fine, per website it contains silicones so recommendations is to not use heavily on nav screens, On plastics it did not leave any sheen, etc - just clean looking. (my goal)

Adam's Rubber Mat and Liner Protectant - very noticeable scent (website says Jasmine and Spice), it is a spray on, let soak in 3 to 5 minutes, wipe off excess. Dries clear. It is like the Motor-Cote spray on product for engines. In side by side test spot, it darkens rubber when viewed from most angles. It leaves a non-slippery surface which was the primary reason for choosing this product. The mats have all sorts of pockets cleaned up nicely. It did what I wanted.

Adam's Leather and Interior Dressing (likely what others would call a protectant) - I only did a brief test. It is unscented. I did try it on the rubber mats and seemed to have a similar effect as the rubber mat and liner product. I will do a side by side later.

The Adam's sprayers work best with short pulls to get a finer mist.

I will need to use them more to final opinions since I try not to judge on first try.

I took the TAOS for it's touch-free wash this morning. Before going in though, I treated it to a Labocosmetica Primus 2.0 pre-treat Foaming, nice to use my IK Foam Pro 12 once again

Picked up another IK pro foam 2 yesterday. I already have one pro foam 2 and could do without it but couldnt help myself.
Its brand new and i bought it at a place we have here called Mac Bid. They auction returns/ discontinued items/etc from Amazon/ Lowes/etc.
So i won the auction and the price was $5.00. With their fees and taxes all in i paid $9.38.
It doesnt have a charge valve so must have been an earlier Pro Foam unit. Im going to add one. For now think ill use it just for rinseless, maybe interiors.

There is an IK Multi Pro 9 on there right now. The auction ends Monday evening and right now the bid is $0.00.
Ill have to restrain myself.

The overcast came back this afternoon, so I finished off the interior after yesterday's exterior work. Vacuumed the floor and seats, and wiped down the doors, dash, and steering wheel with Nextzett Cockpit Premium.

Got everything except the dust that's inside the instrument cluster behind the plastic, dammit.PSX_20251026_164231.jpg

That static charged dust drives me nuts. I have it

This is Koch Chemie Awh @4:1 in my IK Foam Pro 9...after about 1 minute, MIC DROPI should also say this is right after touch-free wash as well

I used 3 brushes to clean the gloss black/machine finished TAOS wheels and rinsed clean with the Worx Nitro Hydroshot and dried, came out great🤌

Today i applied Fluid Film to the Tacomas undercarriage. Used the spray can to spray into all the small access holes on the frame, etc and used the spray gun for everything else. Applied it over the grass as to not get overspray on the driveway.

Afterwards i did a wash. Presoaked with Road Warrior. Foam contact wash with Hyperwash. Used idrosave as a drying aid. Aqua Gloss on the tires and my Optimum hybrid on the wheels

This vehicle nearly broke me. I already have an extreme disdain for interiors but add in a little pet hair and I was contemplating early retirement. I It did give me a chance to test out the new EGO vac and I really like this machine. I’m all about cordless equipment these days and couple that with plenty of suction power and it’s a winner.

A little over 5 hours and the paint is smooth as glass and the interior is almost as good as new despite my $200 Kobrajet hose rupturing and my foam cannon deciding it didn’t want to foam. The hose is trash but the foam cannon just needed a filter change, thankfully.

Wow, never used Griot's Garage 3 in 1 as a drying aid as its pretty thick but looks like you did it, nice thinking outside the box

It is a little slightly thicker, but in my experience it sprays on and buffs out streak free very well. IMO, this is the proper drying aid from Griot‘s, even over Ceramic Speed Shine.

After noting decent results with Adam's Rubber Protectant, we got in the car for a drive and the mats were too slippery. I got out some Poorboys Bug Squash (grabbed first light cleaner I saw) and did them a quick wipe down. I put them back in and tested again - much better.

So I got off of work a little early, sunny and 60 degrees today, so I ran the EN through the touch-free wash and headed home

Once home I grabbed by IK Foam Pro 9 that has Koch Chemie Awh in it to use on my tires and wheels (just to rinse out the barrels from the drive home) and I foamed up 2 hoops at a time and by the time I was done fosming the rear tires/wheels I noticed browning in a puddle at the bottom of the front...WHOA

I rinsed it all away, repeated the other side and backed the EN into the garage. Once inside I went over it with Labocosmetica Idrosave made as a QD, wiped the engine bay and dried the tires & wheels with Ech2o made up as a QD...perfect🤌🤌

I did contact Adam's and they gave a long list of suggestions but I likely applied too much.
