What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Finally got to decorate the garage a little bit. The walls need some work but as this is a townhouse we're renting I can't really get new drywall but again, it's 1000% more than I had before

I have room for more as I aquire it

Got bored the other weekend and decided to bend a new extension for my undercarriage sprayer. Got tired of the multipiece one being so floppy

My auntie hasn't been feeling the best and she is 80 and her husband is 87 so I washed their car.

Bowden's own alkaline snow foam
Bowden's own wax wash
Bowden's own sweet rubber
Meg's hyper synthetic wax - sun friendly
Penrite/sonax fall out wheel cleaner = shit

🙂

So the co-worker I park next to always has dirty wheels, I mean it's an Audi, so yesterday I told him I might have to do a "mercy cleaning" on them...this morning, before work, I did just that

Koch Chemie Awh @5:1 in the IK Foam Pro 9, no brushes or agitation and they came out great! I did use Labocosmetica Idrosave mixed as a QD to wipe them dry, a little dirt from the tires and a little bit from the corners of the spokes, maybe, couldn't see so good at it was 5:30 a.m.

I'll post a pic later when the sun comes up but man the Nitro Hydroshot lifted off a river of brown water

Another FNW and another topper afterwards, this time ADS Amplify and it reminded me of SLICK it is, so nice to use! I also cleaned the exterior glass and applied a layer of Pure:est tire dressing to finish things off...well some Griot's Garage Stinky Be Gone JDM squash to the interior, THEN done🤌🤌

My aunt has one of those too, exact same model, just in pearl white. Great cars.

Boring day around here and since I ran the EN through the touch-free wash last night and wiped down with ADS Amplify, I decided to apply a coat of Turtle Wax Ceramic and Graphene paste wax. I first applied to my wing & panel below the rear window, both gloss black and let it sit for about an hour before removing...ZERO issues, so now the rest of the entire car has it on there now. I've decided to remove it after dinner sometime, so it's going to be left there for a couple hours

I'll bet haven't owned a can of paste wax for 10 years. That being said I've heard good things about that wax. Closest I get to paste wax these days is an occasional coat of Collinite 845 or Jescar Ultralock.
Saw a video maybe 3 years ago where a guy had a can of that wax and applied it with his polisher and a finishing pad. He just used a putty knife to scrape the wax out of the can and apply it to the finishing pad. Pretty good method I thought.

Finally got a chance to prep/coat it today…almost ready for Winter. Just need to get some Winter tires now and good to go.

Caught a pretty much stock 240Z at C & C this morning. One of the original RWD nimble carsIMG_5891.jpeg

Super nice customer but this detail was an expensive lesson to learn. One trip to the scratch tunnel and this is the result on this new Camry.

All of this was in addition to the dealer applied complimentary love marks.

To top things off he may be the victim of vandalism as well. He showed me pics of other cars in his apartment complex that has recently been vandalized at night by someone with a love for leaving deep scratches on cars. He came to me last week and this scratch was not present.

About 6 hours of work and he’s back in the game. Topped with CanCoat

That looks like a bad brush for sure and the car wash ought to be paying for your detail. Just sayin'.

Some of it was the brush and some was self inflicted by the vacuum hose. Most is by the brushes and there was much more but I didn’t want to upload the 12 pics he sent when he called last week.

This is becoming pretty typical around my way but the convenience is just too alluring.

Oh...that's him dragging the vacuum hose across the car? It looked like something happened to the brush/slap strip and metal or something that was not supposed to be touching the car made those marks, but I can that could be from the vacuum hose.

Some of it is the vacuum but there was more damage I didn’t post such as his headlights and passenger side windows that were permanently damaged unless he wants to fork over even more money.

The silver lining is that I’ve convinced him to start hand washing and I’ll be showing him the art of rinseless washing soon since he is an apartment dweller.

Sunday afternoon wash/detail on the truck. Finished with TWHS wet wax as the drying aid. Griots ceramic tire shine has kept the tires looking good all summer. Just some touch ups once in a while.
