What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

I get the impression that most that post pics of tires like dressings on the shinier side.

I mean it's so close to my work/home and it's like $1.00 a day, the underbody wash is worth it alone

Plus I wanna keep the TAOS maintained as well but rest assured, a touch-free wash when it's REALLY salty followed up by a quality RW will now allow me to take my car to new levels of clean 🤌🤌

There's another level for you?! I'm intrigued.

Congrats on the new home for your 4 wheels!

Yeah

Because the car is so close being in the attached garage, I can simply walk out there and I can nit pick it whenever I want to

I haven't had this luxury in forever and I'm taking full advantage of it

So the time has come again...yes, winter tires! I usually shoot for Thanksgiving but since its almost 70 degrees today, I took advantage of it to clean them up

I used Koch Chemie Awh @5:1 in my IK Foamer to get them all nice and fresh, also added some TAC System Water Flow to the entire wheel, now they're air drying before going into the back of the TAOS later

Not sure what the last tire product used was, I mean they're Michelins so you can only hope for the best but its still there, even after scrubbing them down, maybe a base of ADS Ghost is still down there

So we took the EN to Belle Tire this morning to have the 3 seasons taken off and the winter set up put on. Although I like the KN wheels much better, changing up the looks is always cool

Once home I got after it, complete cleaning and protection was dialed up. First I used Koch Chemie Awh @5:1 on everything, let dwell and scrubbed with the Mother's Tire and Wheel brush

After drying them with the Master Blaster and towels, I swiped the tires, front and back with ADS Tire Cleaner, for a further clean

Next I used an old bottle of Gyeon PURE EVO ceramic coating on the entire wheel. I'm sure it's not at its best but it wasn't solid, very liquid, so I went for it! Once I removed it it was VERY glossy, so I felt pretty good about it

The final step before stacking them up for the next 4-5 monthes was a single coat of ADS Ghost and I was done

Sunny and upper 60's...in middle November, oh yeah, the TAOS got a much needed contact wash...let's go

Here's the combatants today:

Pre-treat
--------

-Labocosmetica Preludio ACIDIC

Rinseless Wash
-------------

-Koch Chemie Rrw

Drying Aid
---------

-ADS Amplify

Tires & Wheels
-------------

-Koch Chemie Awh
-ADS Tire Cleaner
-TAC System Water Flow
-ADS Tire+

As much as love the touch-free wash it's very limited to how well it cleans a dirty car, a 20 footer at best, if you know, you know

Those not in the know about the Labocosmetica Preludio "twins" are missing out and for today's task, well, it's made for THIS type of RW! I simply pre-treat w/ Preludio acidic, let sit and then spray the RW ontop of IT, wipe clean and dry and BAAAAM!! (used ADS Amplify as a drying aid, what a finish)

The Koch Chemie Rrw is yet ANOTHER great RW, worked great with the Preludio acidic and ADS Amplify, gotta love that

The tires and wheels got a good cleaning, between Koch Chemie Awh @5:1 in the IK Foam Pro 9, ADS Tire Cleaner and TAC System Water Flow spray on, hose off, the wheels came out flawlessly, topped off by ADS Wheel+🤌🤌

A special guest made an appearance too...Adam's In & Out spray, applied to the wheelwells

My daughter did some art work on the sidewalk with a message for everyone:

Well after everyone went to bed I got after the EN, I mean the road was damp this morning getting the winter shoes on

Since I had such a great experience with Labocosmetica Preludio acidic I decided to use Preludio alkaline on the EN, followed up with Koch Chemie Rrw and Katiba Gloss Booster as my drying aid...

You could virtually FEEL how smooth the paint is through your screen and the gloss....🤌🤌

Time for bed, tomorrow is a new day

Maybe the last ‘comfortable’ wash of the season (65 degrees) and then a little time with an old friend.

Still waiting on their new polish to show up in Ohio

So many good ceramic detailers and sprays out now that I find comparable to PA stuff. I hope they fire up the R&D department again soon at PA.

The wife’s Buick got the full treatment today. It still looks great for a 2013. It was finished with Griots 3 in 1 and the TufShine tire coating applied in April still looks great.

Yesterday the company car got the full treatment. It needed it after two weeks of long road trips, out of town guests and bad weather. After the job was done, I noticed that the vinyl trim needed work. Griots Garage Ceramic Trim Restorer brought back the richness of the vinyl.

A little weekend project. 3 years of tunnel washes, bird poo, plenty of tar and a sap etching that had to be wet sanded but overall a pretty standard coating job. The owners are lucky this is a white car and they couldn’t see the condition of the paint because there were plenty of water spots and some rather unsightly deep scratches. Coated with MOHS and added in a complimentary topcoat of CanCoat on the paint and glass and this car is well protected from head to toe and ready for the mean streets of Concord.

On a side note, my paint correction from two weeks ago that was supposed to come back at 4 today to learn how to do a RW was a no show. I guess he’ll be frequenting the tunnel washes again, despite seeing the damage they cause first hand.

Rest assured, it will be in our next shipment. PA is not really know for their abrasives though...and I'm not sure where this will fit in.

As far as 'finishing' polishes they already have Esclate ("A refined paint cleaner & gloss enhancer...with very milda abrasives to ensure a flawless finish") and Glasscoat Invincible Primer ("Developed with progressive micro-abrasive technology...the ultimate pre-ceramic foundation") so I guess WunderPolish with its "...advanced finishing polish with next-generation ceramic-polymer technology with...primer-like bonding properties that ensure maximum adhesion..." is their version of CarPro Essence/Gyeon Primer?

I was going to use Esclate as an ultra-fine polish on the BRZ before coating it just to see what it did (also wanted to try Kami Fuji Finishing...alas, none on the shelf) but I forgot to grab it and went with Reflect instead.

It's quite possible that there are many equally as pleasing 'finishing sprays' out there but honestly, I no longer have the inclination/motivation to try out numerous things to see if they work better (what is 'better', anyway?...too subjective and what is my 'better' may not be someone else's 'better'. Lotsa people get all jazzed about slickness but it's pretty far down my list of things I care about) At this point, I just want stuff that I KNOW works the way I want it to for this particular car. Wife's winter-driver Civic, now that thing is a rolling patchwork of products. It's also kinda funny how it works now that I'm always around new products and testing every day...I have absolutely no inclination to do it in my garage with my 'main' cars...testing is always happening at work so no need to bring it into my driveway

That's a product line which has intrigued me, expensive, which is why i haven't tried it...well, also I've got so many similar products

POLISHANGEL has always been a pleasing (albeit expensive) indulgence. They've always been about the 'look' and the ease of use. It's a combo of the results and the experience of using it. Are there things out there that work 'better' and more economically? Perhaps but I get enjoyment (and results I like) out of using it so the value is there for me.

I agree! PA very pricey. Some cheaper products may come close to its performance, but none come close to it's overall user experience. It just works and leaves an amazing shine!

I have most of their products and use them sparingly. They always put a smile on my face when I sit back and look at the finished product.

After driving to and from work this morning/afternoon I decided to do a RW on on the EN, had an hour and a half to kill, GREAT time management

For today's RW I reached for the oldest of old school products on my shelf...Turtle Wax Hoseless Lift (aka as their only venture into the RW world) Directions say 4 oz to 2 gallons, I went 7 oz to 3.5 gallons, also the ADS Villain sponge

It was 43 degrees today, soupy but about 60 in the garage and this product STILL gets the job done, too bad they didn't release an update version when all the Hybrid Solution products came out...then again, they know their customer base

The car came out great, picked up the dirt and left my car clean & smooth🤌

Ultimately, that's all that matters but I need to suck it up and get Cosmic Spitz, I think that's what its called. I'll say this, user experience and Feynlab Ceramic Spray Detailer go hand in hand when it comes to user experience for me right now, that bar is HIGH
