What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Received my Black Friday order today, included some ADS Ceramic Spray Sealant, and rain is predicted every day for the next week of course. So I pulled the FJ into the garage got after it. Very easy to apply, nice scent. There was no real difference in the feel of applying it to the white roof compared to the silver paint. NV Jet was more grabby when applying to the roof, but weirdly it had a slicker feel when done. CSS feels slicker on the silver paint than the white, but looks great on both. I finished just as the temp hit 34C/94f outside, but I didn't want to wait a week or more.PSX_20251119_144051.jpg

That grabby wipe-off is why I moved away from NV Jet and Lustre, both really need an update.

Ultimately, that's all that matters but I need to suck it up and get Cosmic Spitz, I think that's what its called. I'll say this, user experience and Feynlab Ceramic Spray Detailer go hand in hand when it comes to user experience for me right now, that bar is HIGH

Cosmic Spritz is indeed what most folks enjoy. It's kinda hard to describe just why the POLISHANGEL experience is so satisfying overall, it just is for some reason. 🤷

Black Friday is coming soon, nice time to give it a try if it interests you.

Oh dang. I'd bring you some but not traveling with the family to south Michigan this week.

I got a little trigger happy and own a regular Cosmic Spritz and Cosmic Spritz with the paint match. So easy to use and enjoy. Forget about durability, that's not what you're paying for! (I've found the PA stuff to be very overrated on durability)

I heard the guy at Ethos (Tim) once say he designed Resist after a PA product. Or maybe it was their ceramic speed wax designed after Rapidwaxx? I don't know but I do think PA is falling behind a bit by now with minimal innovation.

For today's RW I reached for the oldest of old school products on my shelf...Turtle Wax Hoseless Lift (aka as their only venture into the RW world) Directions say 4 oz to 2 gallons, I went 7 oz to 3.5 gallons, also the ADS Villain sponge
You remember I've mentioned that the Optimum forum rep says that product is ONR. He additionally said that they wanted Dr. G to dilute it (so they could make more money) but he refused, so they instead upped the amount in the instructions, so you would use more of it. Here is the quote:

"Ironically, TurtleWax bought their rinseless from Optimum (along with several other products including Wax and Opti-Seal). They wanted us to dilute ONR and Dr G refused so to make more money they changed the sizes and dilution ratio. But right again, they did not train people how to use or why it worked, so failed miserably (after also failing to reverse engineer Opti-Seal)."

And yes, I asked if they could disclose that (this came up in a thread about something else), and was told that they had no NDA with TurtleWax, which seems remarkable to me.

The ONR stuff I could choke down, but the optiseal seems like way out there. TW's spray ceramic outlasts and outlooks optiseal without breaking a sweat (unless the new version is something amazing). Why would they even want it? I could go on about the rest too, it just all smells a little off...

This was quite some time ago. TW had a very similar product to opti seal called shine lock. It was part of their ice lineup.

I'm not vouching for it, I'm just sharing it. It seems to me that people at the time here or at Autopia did say that the TW rinseless was similar to ONR (but better! probably because they were using twice as much). I can't help you with what Opti-Seal is like these days, I'm on my original bottle from 2007. I know they updated it a few years after that, and of course it's been "ceramic" I believe for quite some time, 5 years or more I think.

It is hard to imagine selling Opti-Seal at a retail price point, being that it was $25 for an 8oz bottle, IIRC. Now that I'm thinking about it, wasn't there a Turtle Wax Ice product that was something like Opti-Seal?

I don't remember that but if that puts it in the Ice era, it is certainly more believable. Things really changed up around the COVID lockdown, like they got new talent.

I was very keen to try out ADS Amplify, and the Qashqai was on school pick up duty the last two days. Almost 30C/86f and 50% humidity in the garage this afternoon, so I definitely followed the instructions, sprayed it on the MF and wiped a section at a time, and then wiped with a fresh one, to avoid over spray. Super slick, great gloss, easy application, and a really nice scent.PSX_20251120_140655.jpg

The Australian distributor has put the entire Polish Angel range on clearance. No doubt some great products but for whatever reason, the customer demand just isn't there. Most likely the price, with Cosmic Spritz being priced at $199.95 for a 500ml bottle. And the lack of marketing and innovation rounds out the trifecta.

After driving in some fog/mist 2 days ago, after work today it was off to the touch-free wash 🫡

Once home I used Griot's Garage Best of Show detailer to dry up spots but did the entire car with it. Next was this "mix of tire dressings" (I know that gray Gyeon stuff is the main ingredient, along with other stuff) on the Michelin X-Ice's, a vac and Griot's Garage Stinky Be Gone Leather scent, all done

I decided to finish off my bottle of Feynlab Ceramic Spray Detailer tonight...my God is it slick

I'll be getting another bottle come spring as this winter will be a major PURGE of all my sprays and then I'll REALLY figure out my "go to", Feynlab Ceramic Spray Detailer will be one of them, not sure what my limit will be

Weather was ok today for a wash/detail on the truck. Finished with wet wax as the drying aid.
Love Wet Wax, not sure what's in there but it's a GREAT drying aid if nothing ekse🤌🤌

We have not been out much so no need to wash although the weather was perfect. We did go to a craft event where locals were selling quilts, bobbles, and other stuff one really does not need. But you have to admire all the workmanship and workwomenship since heavily bias to women selling crafts.
