You have two full time jobs. The EN got a much needed touch-free wash this evening, the underbody SURELY needed it
Once home I used Labocosmetica Idrosave made up as a QD to dry the EN off, plus used it on the tires & wheels. Supposed to be dry tomorrow but snow tomorrow night so probably won't stay too clean...then into the ICE BOX
It's a battle during the winter driving season but with commitment and the right products, it CAN be done![]()

Wax hoseless wash, bottle is getting low, which is good! I chose the Gary Dean method today and it came out great

"Self - healing" clear coat....Never heard of that one, Unless it's PPF2nd wash on my new Z. I seriously don’t know what these dealers do to prep new cars these days. I continue to find dried glue (?) from what I assume was some white plastic adhered to the vehicle before shipping it. Having learned about the “self-healing” clear coat this car has and seeing first hand how easily it scratches, I want something that doesn’t require a lot of pressure and won’t damage the paint.

Congrats on the new Z, even here in Chicagoland, I don't see too many of them, strange because its a really cool lookin' ride2nd wash on my new Z. The only brand that I remember advertising it as available over here was Infiniti, which didn't last very long in our market."Self - healing" clear coat....Never heard of that one, Unless it's PPF
Thank you! Besides this one, I’ve seen maybe 1 in my area. That actually appeals to me. I wasn’t planning on a new car but I’d had a 370Z years ago and enjoyed the car. More power and arguably better looks plus $7,500 off made it an easy choice. I’ve been driving pickup trucks for so long, I wanted something small and fun.Congrats on the new Z, even here in Chicagoland, I don't see too many of them, strange because its a really cool lookin' ride

I was hoping Nissan reserved it for special painted vehicles. A look under my hood proved me wrong on that. There’s a sticker on the underside the states it. They should leave well enough alone and just put a normal clear on it. Supposedly it heals itself with heat but it sat in warm sun for a couple hours yesterday and that didn’t healThe only brand that I remember advertising it as available over here was Infiniti, which didn't last very long in our market.
I wonder if it would still be functional under a proper ceramic coating.
So annoying, it would have me second guessing what products I could use without having a detrimental effect on the self healing properties, I'm talking polishes and coatings, not washes. But I'd probably be looking to see what products they recommend, and at least be looking at similar products. Very nice looking car though, I've only seen a couple on the road so far, a yellow and a blue, both stunning colours.I was hoping Nissan reserved it for special painted vehicles. One of the first things I put on the car was PPF on the front end. I worked on polishing that part of the car for several hours before the PPF installer got it. I think it being fairly cold (50° F or so I’d guess in the garage) helped keep the clear coat harder. I can tell you Meg’s 105/205 worked okay. 105 with an Orange LC pad did a great job taking out scratches that were deeper than any self healing thing could repair itself. Also cleared up a marred section of the hood no doubt caused by some dealership ham fisted employee with an orbital and a wool pad. That combo left the paint looking really good actually. So annoying, it would have me second guessing what products I could use without having a detrimental effect on the self healing properties, I'm talking polishes and coatings, not washes. Applied my Tire Cleaner decals to my recently purchased Pressol spray bottle. I then tested it on my d/s tire
I didn't expect this spray bottle to be THIS impressive...but it is

Welcome backHad to step away from detailing for a while due to fatigue but I'm back on my grind, as the young folks say.
Had a friend that bought a new VW about two months ago and we were going to coat it together. He kept pushing it off every weekend so I finally had to shame him into bringing his SUV in by harassing him with pictures of how dirty it's gotten. Thankfully, he did avoid tunnel washes as I instructed but it hasn't seen soap since the day he drove it off the lot. Got it cleaned up, polished and coated.
Gotta love Korrosol. Best fallout remover I've tried.
