What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

The EN got a much needed touch-free wash this evening, the underbody SURELY needed it

Once home I used Labocosmetica Idrosave made up as a QD to dry the EN off, plus used it on the tires & wheels. Supposed to be dry tomorrow but snow tomorrow night so probably won't stay too clean...then into the ICE BOX

It's a battle during the winter driving season but with commitment and the right products, it CAN be done

You have two full time jobs.

Finally got a chance to see how the garage temps would be when its single digit outside...the result showed 46 degrees according to my car

Because it got a touch-free wash a couple days ago it was only salt dusty as its been dry, roads clear but WHITE

I chose the old Turtle Wax hoseless wash, bottle is getting low, which is good! I chose the Gary Dean method today and it came out great🤌🤌

Next Saturday I'll be at The Bays Wheeling doing a detail on a white EN...stay "tuned"

2nd wash on my new Z. I seriously don’t know what these dealers do to prep new cars these days. I continue to find dried glue (?) from what I assume was some white plastic adhered to the vehicle before shipping it. Having learned about the “self-healing” clear coat this car has and seeing first hand how easily it scratches, I want something that doesn’t require a lot of pressure and won’t damage the paint.

"Self - healing" clear coat....Never heard of that one, Unless it's PPF

Congrats on the new Z, even here in Chicagoland, I don't see too many of them, strange because its a really cool lookin' ride

A QD with Ech2o on the Qashqai to remove some rain spots from yesterday, and a clean up of the interior glass with Naked Glass, the rear passenger window in particular, 1 little passenger seems to feel the need to touch the window every time he gets picked up. It could be a protest because I put some tape over the child lock to stop him flicking it off.PSX_20251214_150154.jpg

I had eye surgery so now must limit activity for a few weeks but I will get some chemicals out of the garage due to the low temp.

Thank you! Besides this one, I’ve seen maybe 1 in my area. That actually appeals to me. I wasn’t planning on a new car but I’d had a 370Z years ago and enjoyed the car. More power and arguably better looks plus $7,500 off made it an easy choice. I’ve been driving pickup trucks for so long, I wanted something small and fun.

The only brand that I remember advertising it as available over here was Infiniti, which didn't last very long in our market.

I wonder if it would still be functional under a proper ceramic coating.
I was hoping Nissan reserved it for special painted vehicles. A look under my hood proved me wrong on that. There’s a sticker on the underside the states it. They should leave well enough alone and just put a normal clear on it. Supposedly it heals itself with heat but it sat in warm sun for a couple hours yesterday and that didn’t heal :poop: :D

So annoying, it would have me second guessing what products I could use without having a detrimental effect on the self healing properties, I'm talking polishes and coatings, not washes. But I'd probably be looking to see what products they recommend, and at least be looking at similar products. Very nice looking car though, I've only seen a couple on the road so far, a yellow and a blue, both stunning colours.

One of the first things I put on the car was PPF on the front end. I worked on polishing that part of the car for several hours before the PPF installer got it. I think it being fairly cold (50° F or so I’d guess in the garage) helped keep the clear coat harder. I can tell you Meg’s 105/205 worked okay. 105 with an Orange LC pad did a great job taking out scratches that were deeper than any self healing thing could repair itself. Also cleared up a marred section of the hood no doubt caused by some dealership ham fisted employee with an orbital and a wool pad. That combo left the paint looking really good actually.

I then used 205 with a white LC pad. The 205 left a marred finish unless I used a lot of product on the pad. Maybe I didn’t prep the pad properly…Anywho, that part is all under PPF now.

I think for the rest of the car I’m going to try just some SONAX Perfect Finish 04-06 on a White LC pad or similar and focus on keeping the panel and pad cool. My current polisher is an old PC 7424 and I think I’m going to get a new polisher from Rupes maybe. Still researching that.

Applied my Tire Cleaner decals to my recently purchased Pressol spray bottle. I then tested it on my d/s tire

I didn't expect this spray bottle to be THIS impressive...but it is🤌🤌

it’s fun to try and guess what color the Pressol sprayer bottle will change to

Had to step away from detailing for a while due to fatigue but I'm back on my grind, as the young folks say.

Had a friend that bought a new VW about two months ago and we were going to coat it together. He kept pushing it off every weekend so I finally had to shame him into bringing his SUV in by harassing him with pictures of how dirty it's gotten. Thankfully, he did avoid tunnel washes as I instructed but it hasn't seen soap since the day he drove it off the lot. Got it cleaned up, polished and coated.

Gotta love Korrosol. Best fallout remover I've tried.
