What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

I gave my car a quick rinseless wash and slapped on some Gyeon Cure before the great blizzard of 2026 hit. I’m sure I’ll be driving around in slush for the next week once the roads get driveable so a little extra protection from the brine can’t hurt.

Yesterday was a day at The Bays Wheeling

Here's a breakdown of products used:
-------------------------

Tires & Wheels

-ADS Tire Cleaner
-Koch Chemie Awh
-Koch Chemie Eu (thanks Deyon)
-Gyeon Wet Coat
-multiple brushes

Pre-wash/2BM

-Griot's Garage Iron Remover
-Bilt-Hamber Touchless
-ADS Shampoo+
-Griot's Garage mop stick
-RW sponge

LSP's & Tires

-ADS Phobics
-CarPro Clarify Phobics

Interior bits

-Turtle Wax glass cleaner
-ADS Pilot
-DIY Detail Clean and Protect

So it's been a little over a year since the TAOS was coated with ADS Phobics and yesterday was THEE day, recent weather has badgered her car (plus she's done her own damage )

We teamed up on this one, once the contact wash was done and moved into the detail area we got to work, me on the outside and her on the inside. Upon starting the coating process I noticed scratches on the hood...ALOT OF THEM! I asked her "did you use your snow brush on the hood?" She sheepishly said yes and asked how was the snow supposed to get removed? I said just drive it, when this happens to me I'll just place my hands on a section and just pull off a large section, if it's warmer

We had 3 hrs and knocked it out, good thing she came along this time because the interior needed it badly, the WeatherTechs were VERY crusty as well, now much better🤌

When are you going to turn your garage into a full service detail shop?

LOL

I've barely got enough room to get around my car when doing a RW in there, I mean I'm used to it at this point though

I'll be 56 yrs old in 3 days, it's a young man's game but I'm pretty good health but doing a detail like this day in and day out, I'm not sure, plus I don't live in FLA or AZ but those conditions present different problems

Did a Labocosmetica Idrosave RW this morning, along with a tire & wheel cleaning using Koch Chemie Awh @5:1 and scrubbing them down, rinsing with the IK Foam Pro 12 with just water, then towel drying them down

Biggest snow storm in NC in the last 25 years. We were expected to get 3-6 inches in my area and by 6 pm we were up to a foot with another 5 hours of heavy snow.
Hmm, Colorado might need to import some of that if you all don't mind. Hard to operate ski resorts when they can barely sniff 50% of their usual available terrain.

Meanwhile, climbing up to 65 today. Fire has been the biggest threat this winter.

This winter has been ass backwards for NC. Last week we got blasted with an ice storm that shut everything down for about 4 days and this week my area averaged over a foot of snow.

Come take all the snow you want. With temps barely getting above freezing all week we’ll be buried in a winter wonderland for the foreseeable future.

Young man’s game is correct. I’m trying to keep my business going for two more years until I retire from teaching and can start collecting my pension. My 48 year old joints and muscles just don’t bounce back like they used to.

Snuck out to the garage and applied this "Frankenstein" mix of left over ADS Adapt & Feynlab Ceramic Spray Detailer that I put together late fall bringing in products from the garage. Even in cool, mid 40's garage temps, this mix finishes out nice...and SLICK

I was in a pinch the other because I hadn’t bought any car wash soap in a long time.. So I went to Target and picked up a bottle of the stuff that got it all started for me. Some Gold Class. This is the 1st detailing product I ever bought way back in the days.

It brought back good memories. The scent is still the same and 1st time using it in the foam cannon, this stuff is actually pretty damn good! Super foam, it’s great in every way. I’m not worried about conditioners at all right now. I really like it.

I cleaned the FJ's wiper blades with a rubber restorer and put some graphite on them, I drove in some light rain this morning and they were squeaking and leaving streaks on the glass, these Michelins definitely aren't as good as the Bosch I had before, at less than half the price I guess you get what you pay for. I cleaned the windshield with Clarify Phobic as well. PSX_20260203_135828.jpg

I then gave the dash and doors a clean with Nextzett Cockpit Premium.PSX_20260203_170611.jpg

Headlight setting on 5 ? We have 1-3 on the Amarok 1 being the furthest

Welcome back Eldo! I also enjoyed using gold Class back in the day. Maybe I should pick some up for nostalgia purposes.

Thank you, brother.

And yea it’s solid as ever. The only thing is you do go through it alot faster than something like Hyper Wash, as expected.

I use 200ml. in the foam cannon and then just a small glug into the wash bucket, and an even smaller glug into the wheel bucket. At $11 you totally get the consumer feel as far as usage, but it doesn’t feel like bad value or anything, you just feel like an Average Joe but I kinda like it for now. Lol.

As far as results & user experience, I can honestly say I like it better than Hyper Wash. I think it’s better foam, scent, cleaning power, everything except dilution ratio.

I think it’s better than Megs NXT Car Wash as well, which I’d rate 4th. [as far as Megs soaps] after Hyper Wash. It’s been a while since I’ve used Megs Shampoo Plus but I think I like that one over Hyper Wash as well as its similar to the Gold Class.
