What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

This is a friend’s SUV I coated back on December 14 and it hasn’t seen a drop of soap since then. It was too cold to break out the pressure washer so this was the perfect chance to see what I can really do with the EGO backpack sprayer as the ultimate rinse less machine. It did not disappoint.

Used the foaming tip to spray on a healthy amount of Touch-Less and switched the fan tip to rinse off as much dirt as possible. It’s definitely not a pressure washer but with 350 PSI it did an admirable job of rinsing off the Touch-Less, brine and grit as well as a good bit of traffic film. It definitely got the vehicle to the point that rinseless washing was more than enough to clean up the rest. Now if I could just get the owner to wash his vehicle more than every two months.

Well, Eldo gave us night washing pics the other day, and now we have school parking lot washing pics. Thanks for the report on the Ego sprayer.

Last 2 months or so. I moved from an apartment to a house. Even better the house has a 2 bay carport, and mud room.

I turned the Mud room into my detailing supplies space. I have 2 4 tier shelves, one for chemicals and one for towels. I also have a storage drawer cabinet for extra towels, brushes etc.

I also went down a rabbit hole with Vacuums, and ended up coming to the Buy once cry once solution. A vacumaid Utility Vacuum with a 50 foot hose. It lives in my mud room and can reach my cars anywhere I park. It has fantastic suction and i can vacuum all 3 of my cars without moving any of them. Because the vacuum is inside, and I was able to add a muffler, it is significantly quieter too.

My old pressure washer wand broke. Ive been using a Ryobi 1800 for a while. I started looking at replacement wands, and just ended up getting the Ryobi Automotive pressure washer Kit instead. Better flow, and seems to work rather well. It came with the Stubby Wand. (Though the hose it came with was terrible) I added a hose reel, and found a spot where it can sit (once it warms up) semi permanently.

I also started using old gallon water jugs to pre-mix my foam cannon chemicals. Much easier to pour from a gallon jug than try to dilute each time.

one last change, is using a garden sprayer for the pre-soak. A mix of car shampoo and APC. I dont use it often, but found it lasts much longer when used this way.

My aim with everything was to get to a point where there is minimal setup and tear down effort. Just grab and use. Kind of like at a self-serve car wash.

Finally, I was able to finish the initial clean on the interior of my old truck I got 3rd hand last summer.

I have some Ethos Resist, and some Gyeon bathe coming this week for the Mustang's first wash. I finally ran out of my Adam's shampoo so seeing what is on the market now.

So this morning I decided to run the EN through the touch-free wash as it was going to be in the upper 30's today...it was

Once home after work, with plenty of time to kill, I decided to do some interior cleaning/protecting, "sprucing things up" if you will

So I started with DIY Detail Interior Clean and Protect on ALL Alcantara and carpeted door panels, plus I used this TRC "iron shaped" Interior brush and you know what...I LIKED IT! I begrudgingly use this product, despite Ivan, because it works great, I believe this is my 3rd bottle

Next up, another DIY Detail product, was Interior Ceramic, another stellar product that I've used numerous times, on my 2nd bottle! This got applied to all Interior vinyl bits, goes on wet but dries to a natrual sheen. This product is NOT cheap, about $50.00 a bottle but then again doesn't need to used often, maybe once a year

I finished up with Geist leather conditioner, all leather bits on the seats have it now, fresh coat! I'll say that either the DIY Detail Interior Ceramic I applied last fall and/or Gyeon Leather Shield, was fighting it off

Now it sits to be absorbed and leave behind plenty of protection! It's so much easier to "clean (and protect) as you go"

Have you ever used matte dash by Gtechniq? Wondering how the interior ceramic compares.

It's the way to go, makes life much easier. 1/2 gallon shampoo into a 2.5 gallon shampoo into a 2.5 gallon jug w/ spigot. Especially helpful if one never got around to upgrading to a wide-mouth foam cannon...

I picked up a little get around car over the weekend.
Interior was HORRIBLE! It was owned by a young rose woman... they are the WORST! I do't think she ever cleaned the interior the entire time she owned it. to sure how people can trash their cars like that.
I don't have before pics.... honestly I just wanted to get it cleaned up!

It's been too cold to get to the exterior, but I plan to as soon as it's above freezing.
I also plan to go through the interior again.

Today is the first day in 18 days that it has been above freezing. So i took the opportunity to wash both the Tacoma snd the CRV.
Both got the same treatment. Road Warrior foam presoak/ foam wash with Hyper Wash/ Optimum hybrid on wheels/ Aqua Gloss on tires/ TEC 582 on paint, glass and trim.
Sprayed the undercarriage of the CRV with the cleaning tip on the Eley then sprayed the undercarriage with Totally Awesome Cleaning Vinegar out of my IK Pro Foam 2 and rinsed again with the cleaning tip. The Tacoma wasnt really driven on sloppy roads and its treated with Fluid Film.

FIFTY ONE degrees today (although not that temp at wash time) so I decided to bust out some wash tools and get after it

I reached for Labocosmetica Primus 2.0 foam pre-wash, my IK Foam Pro 12, Works Hydroshot Nitro power washer and my mini Master Blaster...GREAT TIMES

The Labocosmetica Primus 2.0 is VERY impressive on salt dust, the car, the tires and wheels...ALL OF IT! I let it dwell and must say the couple weeks old ADS Phobics was fighting it off, I went around the car twice and emptied the 1 gallon of pre-wash foam

Rinsing the EN down was easy, used about 10 gallons of water with the Works Hydroshot Nitro and even though the psi is only 710 psi max, the beads left behind after the rinse down was INSANE

I dried the EN with that flat, blue TRC drying towel for the majority of the mop work and finished up with 1 of the new Griot's Garage drying towels, effortless combo

The paint felt EXTRA smooth, proving there's NO REPLACEMENT for a quality, strong pre-wash foam, really cleans the surface well compared to the touch-free wash IMO🤌🤌

After yesterdays marathon RX-7 detail, I had a massive load of towels and pads to clean. Because I used Essence and Reload, I soaked the towels and pads overnight in separate buckets with a dose of KCx Green Star. Then two separate loads through the machine with Rag's to Riches.

I then followed with a little cabinet clean out / reorg. I love doing this, refilling, emptying and consolidating bottles. I also went ahead and made a restocking list, also a favourite task.
