What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Not really today, but....

Saturday gave us a break in the weather, so I jumped on the opportunity to wash both of our cars. Nothing crazy, and not my normal Spring "refresher". Just a good 'ole fashion quick hand wash. Time was tight as I worked around bands of rain passing through the area.

It was nice to have both cars looking clean, and I'm continually impressed by how well Hyperwash works on even a filthy vehicles like mine. It cut through the grime and salt, and got the surface really clean.

It was also good to see how well the coatings on both vehicles are holding up. The Mohs EVO on the wife's car is headed into it's third year (I think...?) and it's still looking like a fresh application. The only question mark is the front area below the grill. There the protection seems non-existant, but everwhere else, including the rear hatch is still going strong. The ADS Quartz on my car, applied last Spring, is still working like a champ as well.

When using one of the air freshner bombs isnt one just masking what is causing the odor instead of eliminating it?
That stuff that Brrr posted I think is the product that Flash uses, and it definitely eliminates stuff, Flash said it almost eliminated him.

Another interior bomb choice I've seen but never used is Bio-Bombs. I don't know if it's hype or not but I used the Meguiar's one shared and had minimal success with it. To be fair, the stale scent was strong but I expected a little more.

From their website:

At Bio-Bombs, we don’t just mask odors—we eliminate them at the molecular level. It all starts with an incredible little molecule called chlorine dioxide (ClO₂), a powerful oxidizing agent that destroys odors at their source.

My neighbor bought a new Civic and I told her not to let the dealer touch it, I would do the prep. The dealer touched it anyway and made a mess. I decon'd it, light polish, and topped it with Wolfgang Sealant. The color is pretty cool and picks up different hues depending on the lighting.

The new civics are way different than when I drove them in 1998 20260302_111527.jpg20260302_111202.jpg20260302_110204.jpg

For the most part this was the typical interior and exterior deep clean with the exception of these headlights from hell. The were “restored” previously by a detailer of which the customer didn’t speak too highly. He didn’t correct the headlights and instead he applied some type of cheap PPF/film that was near impossible to remove. It was brittle and bonded to the headlights with some type of industrial grade adhesive. I spent over two hours sanding with 240 grit paper and got most of it off. I was going for perfection and was a little disappointed that I couldn’t achieve it but the customer was more than thrilled at the improvement and threw me a nice tip.

This happened Saturday.
After being missed by (another) snow storm, I decided to give the Fords a bath.
No pictures, but very common winter wash for me.
Both were caked with salt/sand.
DIY spray off followed by Griots rinseless wash in the garage.
Gave the Edge a layer of Griots 3-in-1 ceramic spray since it was long overdue.
I timed it pretty well in that we don't have any precipitation until the weekend, so they should stay pretty clean for a week.

Flash Gordon, the most famous detailer we have on here...well, sort of. I don't think he's ever been on TV like that Eldorado2k guy, though.

I honestly had no idea who the heck you were talking about. When I hear Flash I think of Flash Detailing Products and the owner who’s company makes Brown Royal Wheel Cleaner.

Our friend isn’t simply Flash, he’s Flash Gordon.

So I needed gas after work and since I was there already AND it rained last night, the EN needed go freshened up a bit, do through the touch-free with THEE

After dinner I went over the EN w/ Labocosmetica Perfecta 2.0 QD, wiped the wheels with Labocosmetica Idrosave made up as a QD 🤌🤌

My brother asked if I could wash his truck. I said I’ll clean your wheels & tires, which I wanted to do anyways because they were looking disgusting.

I’m getting tacos for dinner in exchange.

RW for the FJ today, because it sits outside I did hose it off before moving into the garage, to remove anything loose and cool the paint down. Used Ech2o, basically the leftover bucket from washing the Qashqai the other day. Topped it with Meg's HCD after, I was curious so I weighed the bottle before and after, I used 74 grams going over all the paint, but not the glass, wheels, or trim. Finished off with Bowden's Naked Glass on the windows, inside and out, I noticed some doggie nose prints on the rear glass from their last trip.PSX_20260304_175120.jpgPSX_20260304_175006.jpgPSX_20260304_175235.jpgPSX_20260304_175344.jpg
