What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Today i modified a five gallon bucket. Installed a Rain Pal spigot and a Gamma 2 lid. Still have to drill the Gamma lid for a vent.
My plan is to use this with mineral free water from my dehumidifier. Have to keep the dehumidifier pretty clean with monthly clean outs. Figure ill be doing more rinseless washes come the warm weather and this way no danger of mineral spots.
Also going to start mixing my chemicals with the mineral free water. Might as well with the bucket living in the garage. Prior to this had to take my take my stuff to the laundry room to get tap water or use the hose in the garage but that is like swatting a fly with a sledge hammer.

This past Friday i cleaned the interior of the Chevelle. Used my newly acquired Koch Chemie Pol Star. Found it works quite well with a microfiber scrub pad.
Saturday I cleaned the engine. Used Superior Products Road Warrior with a little Cherry Foam added to make it foam a little. Actually pulled out a bottle of Klasse AIO for the air cleaner and valve covers. Dressed the hoses with Aqua Gloss.
So almost have it ready for cruise season as im still going to wax it with a carnuba paste wax.

After dropping off my daughter this evening I ran the EN through the touch-free and dried it off there. Then once I got home I pulled into the culd-a-sac for a couple more pics, like that spot

Wow.....Absolutely Show Car ready. Well done!

I didn't want to steal the other thread with a much more chemistry and detailed approach to soap to share this short-term find so I'll share here for the Gold Class fans:

Per Deyon's suggestion, finally used Opti-Coat RW on the EN yesterday after work, road was damp in the morning so I cleaned it up

I must say this product did a great job AND maintained the slickness of DIY Detail Envie underneath

I know you don't like ONR, so did you enjoy this version? A lot of people like the smell of the blue ONR, but the mango scent of the OPTI-Coat version is so much nicer.

Another product from the OPTI-Coat maintenance line that no one ever talks about is their brilliant M-Wash. Compared to the regular blue OPT soap which produces a thinner foam, M-Wash will foam like a champ. It smells amazing and is concentrated to offset the higher price. They also say it "contains Si02 & Fluoropolymers for added protection", but being realistic, I just use it for the slickness.

Wash time for the FJ, it was supposed to be 35C today but it was overcast most of the afternoon, so we barely made 30C. I decided to play around with something I got for Christmas, I'm sure we all know what it's like, oh he's always washing his car so get him some car wash. I used Bowden's Elf Juice Wax Wash with the Chrismitt MF wash mitt. The elf juice smells a bit minty, and it did add a little gloss, but it's not very slick in comparison with Reset. The mitt I'll probably never use again, it just doesn't feel right and I found a few red threads stuck in gaps. I used Ech2o as a drying aid, with a general purpose MF, then finished any runs and the glass with a Liquid8r. PSX_20260410_182902.jpgPSX_20260410_183108.jpg

Dammit, this clear coat is really starting to give me the irrits now.PSX_20260410_183231.jpgScreenshot_20260410-184934.png

I did enjoy the user experience here Deyon! As far as not liking ONR, well, if its true that the old Turtle Wax hoseless wash was ONR, well, I guess I DO like ONR

Love the packaging, the smell and most importantly THE results, left my paint smooth and not sure if it's the Opti-Coat or the DIY Envie that's the last thing applied to my paint! Either way, I like it and I'm looking forward to it's next use...oh yeah, I'm going to make a fresh gallon of FrankenDetailer using it as the base

Btw Deyon, are you interested in DIY Detail Envie? I'm pretty sure your not the biggest fan of Ivan, same for me, but this stuff has TRUELY impressed me

I actually liked a lot of the DIY stuff, especially the rinse-less wash and Incredible Suds. I also agree with some of what Ivan says, namely chemical procedures ect. But then he undoes all that with the idiotic theories he comes out with. Then stupid stuff like bristled brushes to clean paint or crappy generic tools with a DIY sticker on them. And since all that THOR stuff went down, I haven't been keen on supporting the DIY brand or any that fall under the THOR banner (especially YUM).

My choice to avoid DIY on ethical grounds won't impact them, nor is it the only reason why I've gone elsewhere. In many cases, the DIY product comes in at more than some very highly regarded products and brands.

Which of these soaps would you choose? Pretty easy one for me........................
DIY Incredible Suds - $34.95 (473ml) or $179.95 (3.78-litre)
Carpro Reset - $25.95 (500ml) or $134.95 (4-litre)

The rinse-less is less defined but again, I prefer Hero.............................
DIY Rinse-less - $39.95 (473ml) or $109.95 (3.78-litre)
Armour Detail Hero - $35.95 (473ml) or $128.95 (3.78-litre)

I much prefer Adapt, smells nicer, easier to use.........................
DIY Waterless Wash - $29.95 (473ml only)
Armour Detail Adapt - $32.99 (473ml) or $119.95 (3.78-litre)

The price difference here is absolutely absurd........................
DIY Quick Beads - $54.95 (473ml) or $229.95 (3.78-litre)
Carpro Hydr02 Lite - $21.95 (500ml) or $134.95 (4-litre)

No question with this one!
DIY Ceramic Gloss - $39.95 (473ml) or $199.95 (3.78-litre)
Armour Detail Amplify - $32.95 (473ml) or $119.95 (3.78-litre)

Tire dressing, concentrate vs RTU.................................
DIY Tire Dressing - $29.95 (473ml) or $175.95 (3.78-litre)
Capro Perl - $22.95 (500ml) or $144.95 (4-litre)

Interior Detailers.................................
DIY Interior Clean & Protect - $22.95 (473ml) or $114.95 (3.78-litre)
Carpro InnerQD - $16.95 (500ml) or $71.95 (4-litre)

Again, this one is ridiculous.......................
DIY Panel Prep - $42.95 (473ml)
Carpro Eraser - $21.95 (500ml) or $114.95 (4-litre)

And so on and so on.............................

I have no doubt Envie is a nice product, but at $49.95 for a 473ml bottle, it's not even on the radar for me when Amplify, Megs HCW, Feynlab and Bead Maker all provide exceptional gloss and slickness for considerably less money.

Yeah, $50.00 for Envie is insane, it's good but not THAT good

I wish you could get Feynlab there Deyon, it's certainly a "Deyon-type" brand🤌🤌

Needed to repair one of my wheels due to self-inflicted curb rash. Was referred to this alloy wheel specialist. This tech was a master using an air grinder and various grit discs. Finished with some polish and it’s like the damage never happened. Now I don’t cry every time I clean my wheels/tires.

Wash/interior today. Weather is turning nicer so cleaned tires with Griots tire and mat cleaner. Got them stripped clean. Then applied TWHS graphene tire spray coating. Wheels got hydro blue. Quick coat of TWHS black wax. It go's in Thursday for a oil change and tire rotation. I am now at about 16,500 miles.

After getting back from the seasonal tire/wheel swap I decided to turn my attention to the garage

I brought out all my detailing products that were inside all winter/early spring and got them placed appropriately, swept out the garage and pitched some stuff

After lunch I cleaned the d/s footwell area of the g/f's TAOS, took out the WeatherTech, vac'd around it, scrubbed the WeatherTech, let dry and re-installed

I then did the same on the EN, re-installed the carpeted N mats and installed an aftermarket cupholder/cellphone holder that goes on the hump, nice piece made by a fellow enthusiast (Dream Siphon) I also wiped down the entire interior with ADS Pilot and sprayed Griot's Garage Stinky Be Gone Leather scent throught🤌🤌

Lastly I applied Pure:est tire dressing to the coated Continental DWS06's, looks better, kinda weird how the ADS Ghost looked after i got home
