What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Gave the FJ a wash today. Foamed it with Reset first, then gave it a single bucket wash also with Reset. A bit of testing today, tried out the $20 Kmart foam canon, which worked fine, it holds 1 litre which was enough to do the whole thing, even inside the wheel arches and the rear axle. Also retested the wash mitt I wasn't impressed with last time, and it felt good with Reset, and I only got 1 but if red fluffy off it. No drying aid this time, the the Energise Crystal Seal is holding up great. I finished off with Krystal Klear Bubblegum Blitz on the glass using a waffle weave cloth. Nothing added to the tyres.PSX_20260505_161401.jpgPSX_20260505_161708.jpg

I have a 1 litre foam cannon and can do 4 wheel arches, toner? cover and 2 foams on the VW before empty.

That's with a $25 ebay special that I bought years ago

Still waiting for steady weather here in PA... it goes from 80s to 40s and all over the place right now.
HAHA I want to really clean up the Spark!

Well no wash on the EN today but I did try my newest version of "FrankenDetailer" after work (Opti-Coat based this time) and I have say it worked great, damn that KSG is old, seems to be ok

I was giving the Qashqai a wipe over with Amplify this afternoon, mainly for dust and fingerprints, and I noticed barely anything was coming out, I was just going to swap the spray head for a spare when I noticed the plastic filter was clogged with a gel like residue. I cleaned it with a little brush, worked fine after. Anyone else had this issue with Amplify?PSX_20260506_165602.jpgPSX_20260506_165725.jpg

Hey Dave, I'd drop Brad an email and let him know about this, he's pretty quick with responses, might be a bad batches and if so, he'd get you another bottle I bet

This seems to be normal for Amplify. I've had it happen a few times, according to ADS it doesn't affect performance of the product.

I wonder if that is the ceramic component "curing" or whether it's something growing in there.

Yeah, once I cleaned the filter I got good pressure and atomisation again, and it flashed away like normal. I don't think any of the other similar products have a filter on the end of the tube, maybe why I've never had that problem before, although I've had the spray head clog up before, that was NV Boost V2, but regular cleaning made it good again too.

Edit to add, Boost V2 does have a filter on the tube, but it doesn't clog up, I guess it needs to dry out to harden, whereas Amplify builds up a gel like residue.

Realised I hadn't cleaned the interior of the FJ since going off road last week.PSX_20260507_163021.jpg

A quick wipe over with Inside Job sorted it out, definitely my favourite interior product scent. Also it's much easier working on the dash with the sun visor up. I may have scared a kid going past way too fast on an e-bike when I pushed too hard while wiping the horn pad, purely an accident of course.PSX_20260507_163113.jpg

Gave the Chevelle some attention today. Washed with Feynlab rinseless. Used panel prep. Waxed with Gliptone wax. Used Turtle Wax SealNShine on wheels. Used Carpro Dark Side on tires.
Won the Gliptone on an online auction for $2.00. Never heard of it before. Its been made on Long Island NY for decades. Anybody from that area familiar with it? Think its sold on Amazon now.

Looks great! I used to use Gliptone wax in the early 2000's. It was great!

I think the only Gliptone I have is a jar of clay that was supposed to be the yellow elastic/Erazer clay (the picture on the jar is yellow) but turned out to be the charcoal clay they still sell now. It is packaged more like the Erazer than the ClayMagic clays; I've never used it. And apparently I bought it from DetailBarn through Amazon...2012...holy crap...

Yes, it seems to me we used to see the Gliptone products in the stores here in the metro NY area.
