What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

First wash after applying Armour Detail Supply Quartz coating. The hydrophobics were off the chart. So far very impressed with the coating.

We've got a some rain coming through in the next few days, something they're calling a "rain band" actually, so I thought I'd give the windshield on the FJ a treatment with Glaco. Started by cleaning all the glass with Garage Therapy One Glass, side mirrors too, then used Autoglym Glass Polish on a Kincrome polishing pad, nice and chunky, fits the hand great, on the front glass, to remove previous treatments. Then applied Glaco using the built-in applicator, I thought I only had enough left to do 1 or 2 more applications, but I used barely any, then wiped off with a damp lint free cloth. As a final step I gave it a light buff with a small waffle weave towel.

All the instructions are in Japanese, usually I just looked it up online, I decided to try Google translate this time, took a screenshot, pretty good.View attachment 140266
Did the exact same thing last Sunday on the Amarok as it was a cloud less day. Usually don't leave it this long in the year but that's the weather for you.

I used McKee's 37 Cockpit 20/20 for the interior and exterior i used the glass polish that you have in the black bottle I forgot the name.

Toyota Camry's next but you need very long arms to get to the bottom of the windscreen.

In readiness for selling a riding lawn mover, I foamed it with Adam's soap and used MK37 APC on stuck grime. It cleaned up nicely.

On a side note, we had to have our well pump replaced. The check valve on top the pump was leaking so the pump was running continuously. That did not help electric bill. After fixing the check valve, it was discovered the pump could not generate more than 40 psi (set at 70 psi). Low water flow and pressure was why we had it checked. Now, everything is back to new so washing with a hose is much nicer.

Took my vette to its first show in Florida and then brought it home to clean off the dirt and grass.

Washed it all, polished with Souveran jewling wax then topped it with Souveran. I was in the waxing mood lol.View attachment 140267View attachment 140268View attachment 140269View attachment 140270View attachment 140271

Call me crazy but did that wax darken up the paint? Looks like it in pictures.

This was nothing special as far as detailing goes. It’s my favorite return customer that can’t seem to find a competent mobile detailer, mostly because she’s a little on the cheap side. The real challenge with this vehicle was getting the job done in my garage using my EGO backpack sprayer as my “pressure washer” and using only 8 gallons of water to get the job done. This SUV hadn’t been detailed in at least 8 months so it was the perfect test of what could be done with this new process. We’re currently in drought conditions so car washing is banned until further notice which left me with no other option than to alter my process and do everything in my garage. I bought a containment mat I saw on a video from Chelsea and it worked perfectly. I was able to clean this vehicle inside and out using my sprayer, DIY Rinseless Wash and my usual myriad of interior tools and I didn’t get any of the filth on my garage floor. Until restrictions are lifted, which won’t be happening anytime soon based on the weather, this is my new wash bay.

Lovely etchings from the previous detailer that used something caustic on the paint. I guess this is the price for going with cheap instead of looking for quality.

I’m such a nice guy I did a quick polish on the hood and roof to remove the chemical etchings.

Optimus, does that mat have some sort of pump port? Or does it just hold 8 gallons of water, and you wet vac it out?

When the water level got too high I used my leaf blower to blow all of the water to the rear and then I blew it out of the garage.

Um...couldn't you have just let it run down the garage floor and not bothered with the mat? I'm presuming your floor is pitched slightly toward the door.

X2. If the water is going to get blown out eventually, I'm not really getting the point of the containment mat. Plus the mat is just one more item to clean, dry and put away.

Yes it did! I didnt expect it to, but the metallic flake are more visible and the car looks much darker.

This is my first time using Souveran. It is pretty impressive.

Even with the currency conversion rate, bloody good prices.

What was your process?
Exterior clean with ONR the windshield is brand new but has these wiper scratches from the previous owner. 🤬

Interior was McKee's 37 20/20 glass cleaning liquid polish coconut 🥥 scent

On a scrub pad worked in 50/50 on the glass let dry to a haze then buff with a waffle wave microfiber cloth.

I then waited for the late afternoon sun and moved the car around to double check with the 3rd microfiber cloth.

Called it a day it's a Toyota Camry so the dash to windshield is long but I'm blessed with long arm's but I did get a work out doing this.

😩

Helping a buddy polish his Kona N today. He did all the wash/decon before I got here, so all I had to do was polish the hood, entire driver's side and rear hatch area. As I post this he's using the EGO dryer and then we'll use panel preps to wipe it down and apply the ADS 3 year ceramic coating. I'm also using Koch Chemie Ae to wipe the tires and finish up with ADS Ghost on the tires...stay "tuned"

That's a terrible reflection shot, everything is backwards.
