What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

I was completely caught off guard with this one.

A friend’s future baby mama wanted her interior detailed since her parents are coming in town and she didn’t want them riding around in a dirt mobile. I was told that it’s not that bad and I figured that since she’s a woman with no kids it should be easy for the two of us. I was so very wrong. She works in a greenhouse and brings the greenhouse home with her it appears. We had about 90 minutes to do what we could and while it’s not perfect, I think her parents will be able to ride in the car without feeling completely disgusted.

The exterior is a disaster for another time.

Kudos to Honda because it actually wasn’t. My home vac took care of the dirt in the floor mats and my air gun did most of the work on the interior carpets. If we had 30 more minutes we could have had the interior damn near perfect.

Reminds me of that scene from "Pulp Fiction" where that guy gets shot and Mr. Wolf has to help.

7AM to get the best spot for non exhibitors, and passed out flyers. Then from 10-1:30 Went door to door handing out flyers. On last home was able to score an appointment for next Tuesday. Would have done it on the spot but it's a Sprinter van and we need our collapsible scaffold. Hope the hard 7 hour day pays dividends:)

That was my recommendation. The driver’s mat actually has a nice hole so an upgrade is definitely past due. She’s a very nice woman but judging by the exterior, which is actually worse I won’t hold my breath.

Cleand up the annual (Midges) 🦟🪰🐝🪲🦗🐞 insects from a Launceston trip, they're headed there again today.

I HATE spring bugs, Fun tip though if you travel via the coast line towards Burnie way less.

Tux mats too

I've been disappointed with the warping of the edges of my WeatherTechs

Same here. I switched over to 3D MaxSpider 10 years ago. They aren't as industrial-looking as the WeatherTech. And they fit much better, covering the dead-pedal area completely.

Hey guys, thanks for those other (Tuxmat and MaxSpider) options. The Husky are good but they don't seem to have as good (model) coverage as WeatherTech.

The WeatherTech Floorliner HP's may be better. I don't really like that about mine either but the HP's weren't available when I bought mine.

I gave the FJ another RW today, it rained a couple of nights ago, for all of 5 minutes, so it was covered in dust spots. I hosed it off outside first, then moved it out of the sun to wash it. No way I was working in the sun, 28C/82f with only 10% humidity would dry everything way too fast. I used Ech2o and a noodle mitt, which I rinsed regularly, even though the hose off pretty much removed everything. Water behaviour from the Reload 2.0/Minute Wax combo was ridiculous.1000046370.jpg

You definitely overpay when buying WeatherTech. I figured this out when I realized I can walk-in to the show room here and buy nothing but go home fully fed. Great pastry and drink selection in the showroom!

They are very expensive, I think they were about twice the price of the Husky mats I got. However as I alluded to earlier, I wanted to buy a set of Husky's as a gift for a friend that got a new car, but Husky didn't have them for that model so I had to get the Weathertechs. Not sure how they held up, I guess that was almost 4 years ago now. And as I said above, I'm grateful to the members that posted about the other options I hadn't heard of.
