What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

After work I hit the touch-free wash and once home I spot dried the car. I also used Koch Chemie Eu to strip the Continentals of everything on there. I did this to get out infront of it before The Bays Wheeling this Saturday. Once there a good scrubbing with ADS Tire Cleaner and the pre-treat wash should make them PERFECT for a double, fresh coat of ADS Ghost 🤌🤌

Well upon further review, the ADS Ghost is still present because this morning, in actual sunlight, it's still there

Washed with my PW, foaming with Griot's Surface Wash. I then used a mitt in a bucket of AD Shampoo +, rinsed, then another foaming, and a final rinse.

I used AD tire cleaner and wheel cleaner on the wheels and tires. Dressed the tires with 3D GLW Series SiO2. Dried, pulled into the garage. Then coated with AD Ceramic Spray,(wheels included).

Thanks to the tip from SheepStar, I put the Ceramic Spray on heavy, using an applicator and letting it flash for a few minutes. Wiped right off, no drama. I'll do another coat tomorrow and should be good for winter.

If I have the ambition, I'll wipe under the hood and then treat the weatherstripping. GummiPflege, of course.

Put on the second coat of ADS Ceramic Spray. Also spritzed under the hood, treated all the weatherstripping with GummiPfledge. The sponge on the Gummi just fell apart, (been awhile, I guess). So I poured it into a spray bottle and just used a microfiber to wipe it on.

With 1 week from today to go for my yearly Tail of the Dragon trip, today was the day to prep the EN for the 2000 mile round trip️

It was already fairly clean but the tires & wheels needed more attention, so let's start there:

-ADS Tire Cleaner
-Koch Chemie Awh @4:1
-TAC System Water Flow
-multiple brushes

Once all the hoops were cleaned I did a simple foam, dwell and rinse with 3 oz of Bilt-Hamber Touchless in the foam cannon. It was kinda funny that my current protection was fighting off the pre-treat

After a quick dry with the EGO dryer I moved over to the detail area. Once there I spot dried things and got ready for glass coating and coating lite booster, ADS glass coating and ADS Phobics

The ADS glass coating is so easy to apply and remove, ADS Phobics is even easier! The next coating was for the tires, ADS Ghost and here I applied 2x's. The other day I swiped the tires with Koch Chemie Eu and although a great product, it only slightly weakened ADS Ghost, a true testimonial to the greatness of Ghost ️️

Half time of Michigan vs. IOWA will have me applying Feynlab Ceramic Spray Detailer to the ADS Phobics coated to surface to further "enhance" things, the EN is already glossy and slick, after this it will be on "another level"🤌🤌

Speaking of another level, check out this RS6 Avant parked next to me! Had an Akropavik (spelling) exhaust but look at those rims...NAILED IT

The interior of the Qashqai required some attention. Used Bowden's Leather Love on the steering wheel and shifter, and Nextzett Cockpit Premium on the dash and centre console. I also noticed some marring on the gauge plastics, I guess something inappropriate was used to wipe after a cough or sneeze, yuk. So I grabbed some Dodo Juice Lime Prime and a couple of small and fine MFs and hand polished, not perfect, but better.1000046579.jpg

We recently completed a comprehensive exterior and interior detail on a Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG under a tight four-and-a-half-hour time constraint. Due to strict HOA regulations in our client's gated community preventing Sunday detailing services, we relocated the vehicle one mile to our home to complete the turnaround before the client’s scheduled professional listing photoshoot the following morning.
Despite severe neglect hidden beneath the surface, we successfully restored the vehicle using the following multi-step process:

Exterior & Paint
  • Matte Paint Care: Cleaned safely using CP Reset to maintain the factory matte finish without adding unwanted gloss.
  • Paint Protection: Finished all non-matte exterior surfaces with CP EliXir
  • Carbon Fiber Restoration: Addressed heavy scuffs on the side skirts using a Flex PXE paired with a 2-inch LC orange foam and CP Reflect.
  • Final Inspection: Performed a final wipe-down using N914 under headlamps immediately prior to client pickup to ensure a streak-free delivery.

Wheels & Tires
  • Deep Cleansing: Skipped traditional wheel cleaners to prevent instant brake disc rusting ahead of the photoshoot.
  • Agitation Pass: Heavily agitated the neglected barrels and faces using Super Clean APC.
  • Secondary Pass: Followed up with a secondary cleaning pass using P&S Brake Buster.
  • Tire Dressing: Applied Adam's Graphene using a small makeup Kabuki brush.

Interior & Electronics
  • Alcantara & Leather: Cleaned the extensive leather upholstery and Alcantara surfaces using KC Pol Star diluted at 1:10.
  • Electronics: Cleaned the large LCD displays using Chemical Guys Total Interior paired with a waffle-weave glass towel.

Engine Bay
  • Degreasing: Degreased the motor using (APC).
  • Dressing Application: Dressed the engine using Cristal Products Untouchable (my go to for motors) Buy it by the dozen at Walmart. Use to be called NO-TOUCH and have been using it exclusively on motors for over 20 years.
  • Spraying Process: Applied a two-coat spraying process consisting of a light initial coat followed by a leveling coat.

The steering wheel on the FJ was feeling a little sticky, probably sunscreen as it's that time of year again, that's my story and I'm sticking to it. I gave it a brush with some Leather Love, and buffed dry with a small MF. Not bad for a 15 year old steering wheel.View attachment 140922
May I suggest some leather studded driving gloves.

Some of the YT creators posted Amazon Prime Days buys and as one would expect competitor had sales too. Josh V highlighted more than one case where some prime day deals mentioned a % off that were bogus since the prior price was lower than the price used to calculate the discount. This is an old trick to show the a "list" price yet it is often on sale.

Old department store trick. Many years ago I remember looking at something and deciding it was too much money. Then a week or two later they sent a flyer in the mail 50% off! Well, I said for half price, I'm in. So I go to the store, and it's the same price as it was before, they had re-tagged everything to twice the price so the "50% off" was the same price they had been selling it at before.
