What did you do today non-detailing related?

And walked past the construction site down the road, the source of all the dirt in the air at the moment. They have to ship in enough dirt to raise the site above the flood plain to the same height as the road in standing on.
As I scrolled down that picture and saw that hydraulic dump thing my mind first thought it was mobile missile launcher. Guess I've been watching too much TV news, or something.

This came home! And I mowed the neighbours yard with his HONDA Japanese spec assisted push mower... My back was loving it.

The sun was out today also......😬

Went out for a midday walk with my best buddy. It was warm out, sunny, perfect spring day. I have two places we like to go, the first one takes us down to the lake, which backs onto bushland and the river. This spot is usually busy with plenty of people and their pets. The second spot is much quieter and surround by bushland and the river. Today we did the lake trip.

As is a frequent occurrence, I have to stop and wait for the little guy to sniff something, I usually walk ahead a little then turn around. Well, I turned around and was startled to see a tiger snake crossing the path about 2 metres behind us. I jumped and abruptly pulled on the lead. This snake had basically watched me walk past then took off across the path. If it had been an Eastern Brown, my sudden movement would likely have caused it to charge at us.

This happened in a heavily trafficked area of the lake, lots of noise, lots of people, lots of dogs. Not far away was two mothers and their kids having lunch on the grass, another couple sitting and talking on a bench. They normally like to be away from noise. This is the second tiger I've seen in the same area this season.

Most snakes we see are sleeping in the sun, and don't move if you don't get too close. But we were walking on a path next to a busy road when a red belly suddenly moved fast away from us into the long grass, I didn't see it till it started moving, I was jumpy for the rest of the walk.

There's a snake we see regularly near the kids park, it lives under the path, I've mentioned it before, well a few people were telling me it was dead, about 10 metres from its hole, but on the other side of the fence in the farmland. Well I saw the snake again a couple of days ago, it's recently shed it's skin, and it's looking well fed and healthy, so now we think that it killed the other snake, maybe a territorial dispute. Weirdly everyone seems happy the snake is still alive, it really doesn't seem to be bothered by people walking past.

Probably get some hate for this, but the only snake 🐍 I like is a dead one.

Even in Dave's pic I get all weird looking at that snake.

Wow, that looks nice, Chilly. Pardon my naïveté, but how does that open when you want to get in there?

Not from me, I don't like them either. The greenies will say they are a vital part of the environment, but they deadly and not welcome around humans or pets.

I watched several snakes being "re-located" via the "long handle snake chaser" at work. With the nursery backing onto bushland, two large lakes and a reed bed, there was plenty of habitat for them. What I'd find, on the really hot days, they would venture into the nursery to find a cool, moist spot in the fernery. They would also find their way into the shop. With customers and children around, naturally there is only one action here.

I remember one of the other staff finding an absolutely massive red belly black in the rose area, that one was scary. Or when the cat came into the tea room with a dead eastern brown in her mouth. There was multiple occasions of them loose in the shop too, the potting mix pallets were a favorite. On one of my last weeks there, I was dealing with a customer when I spotted the boss running out the back, that only meant one thing, and sure enough, a massive eastern brown in the fernery. Then there was a week where on three separate occasions, I nearly stepped on baby eastern browns. Oh, and late last winter, a baby tiger warming himself in the potting mix pile, the only snake I've had to "re-locate" myself.

So yeah, not a fan.

I have been going through my dad's estate.

I am an Army brat so much of it is military related.

I guess you guys have a lot of poisonous snakes there. Not that we don't here in the US, but not in my area.

The rear three sections are hinged fold onto each other starting at the rear one, so it folds over the middle one, then they fold over the third one, and then the three of them hinge upward at a 90 degree angle over the last stationary section behind the cab where they will stay put with prop rods

I'll take some pics later when I go to the dealer to pick up that wheel set you conspired on with my wife and forced me to buy

I believe you said the wheels on the newer Tacomas are not interchangeable with previous generations. Would you happen to know what model year that changed? I've got a stock set ( 4 with the centers and lug nuts )off of my 2013 SR5. They were removed when that truck had 300 miles on it. I've been trying to sell them on Craigslist and no takers. Started at $295.00 for the whole set for a month then lowered them to $195.00 for another month and no takers. Would you happen to know how much the dealer wants for a base stock wheel?

I was told by the knowledgeable guy at the tire store that it changed with the 2024 models on the Tacomas

According to him they went from a 12 mm stud to a 14 mm stud and the lug nut is beefier than the previous years

He explained that a lot of aftermarket wheels have two drilling patterns to accommodate multiple setups which is why they are backwards compatible

Are you asking about a base stock wheel for your new Taco?

There’s a metric ton of factory wheels for the new Tacos on eBay, many with free or cheap shipping

Just not to Alaska

For 50 years I lived in Sydney and never saw a single snake, not even on trips outside Sydney, I guess I wasn't looking. Living surrounded by farmland I see them regularly now. But it's weird, there are people who are more afraid of my dogs than they are of snakes that are around.
