What did you do today non-detailing related?

OK, truck full of wheels/tires; they are dusty and dirty from being in the warehouse but they still have all the little stickers all over them, and I believe they have les than 30 miles on them because the little nibs are still on the tread

Tonneau fully closed

First section folded back on second section; can't drive this way

IMG_7143 copy.jpeg

Second section folded over the third section, you can secure it with the straps and drive this way

IMG_7140.jpeg

Third section folded up against the cab and held in place with one of the two prop rods; not recommended to drive this way (sorry for the crazy pic)

I asked the parts guy at Toyota how much the cheapest factory wheel for a new Tacoma was and he said a bit over $250 FOR A SINGLE STEEL RIM

So I am not feeling the least bit bad about $1,350 ($1,500 minus $150 military discount) for 4 factory TRD rims, 4 BF Goodrich Trail Terrains, center caps, factory TPMS sensors, mounted, and balanced

I am set for life probably

I never noticed, but I'll probably forget to check it out next time it's on. It's one of those movies that I'll just leave on, if it happens to be on the box.
Funny, the first line of dialogue he sounds English or Aussie (I'm sorry, I'm sure that's offensive to you), where the second line he sounds American. Apparently he's a pilot, not an actor, and I guess he's American.

Wow, that almost didn't fit. Good deal, and those don't look too bad to clean and not gloss black, so hopefully won't wind up looking like the piano black trim on my car. And thanks for the pictorial guide to the tonneau stages.

Yeah, they are about half way between satin and matte finish

I had them strapped in with ratchet straps but the tailgate had to be open and I was a nervous nellie

The 6 foot bed is certainly harder to park than the 2017 Taco with a 5 foot bed we had in Hawaii but you can certainly haul more

Mowed the neighbours yard and trimmed some tree branches with his Sthil electric mini hand held chain saw.

Played with the dog's.

I gave Rayner a brush she is blowing her winter coat soooooo much fluff.

I brushed my guys yesterday, I had to empty the brush 4 times for Buster, twice for Ziva, and it was the same last week. They're really starting to shed their winter coat now.

I was lucky to have the wind, if she would stand still i could of kept going for another hour. I reckon about 15 times i had to unblock the brush.

Apparently that it's good for the nesting birds to have their nests lined with German Shepherd dog hair

A little kayak fishing. Picked up a few more lure storage boxes too

I worked on my pre-winter checklist until my knee gave out

I pressure washed the underside of the mower and filled it with stabilized gas and ran it for a while and topped it off, and then lubed the throttle and drive cables, and then put it in the shed

Ditto for my string trimmer

I blew out the hoses and guns and pressure washer pump, used Sta-Bil on the pump, and got it all stored in the shed

I got the snowblower out, ran it for a bit, and put the waterproof mat in the garage that is gets parked on and moved the snowblower into the garage

I put the detailing cart and all the extra hoses and buckets in the shed, keeping out my rinseless bucket and my dirty towel bucket

I got the reflective wands out on the perimeter of the driveway and walkway for driving and for snowblowing/shoveling

I got the double gate in the back yard secured for the winter with 2x6 braces to make it windproof

I ran out of steam

I still need to get the Christmas lights up on the front porch, and get all the boxes and totes of Christmas stuff from the shed into the garage because the boss has been promising to go through 50 Christmas' worth of accumulation and get rid of what we don't normally use each year

Winter checklist down under, put the shorts away, and get a jacket, jumper, and maybe a beanie out for walking the dogs, and put the warmer rugs on their beds.

I have spending a lot of time going through my dad's estate and still have plenty to do.

No one else helping out? I remember when my grandmother died a few family members came over at different times to help out. It did help we were living in her house so we didn't have to rush things.

Just my wife. My sister is in Canada (she is a US citizen) and will not travel. I had to deal with my dad's sisters's estate too last year. My dad was 94.

My dad passed away last year but I had eye surgery and that stopped a lot of work. I finally got back to do a lot more work.

My dad died back in 2020, he lived in another state, and was never a part of my life. I don't know if they would have appreciated it if I just turned up after to help out, I don't even know if his family up there know I exist, but they could get a shock if they ever do one of those online family DNA tests.
