What did you do today non-detailing related?

Could you add a little bule locktite to that bolt?

I did think about doing that, but I'm a little hesitant seeing as Stihl didn't use it in the first place. Stihl are very specific about details like that.

Went to the Gun Range or Gun Club

Ruger .22 single action revolver 6 shot at 25 metres.

Springfield 9mm 12 shots only at 25 metre distance, I haven't shot a 9mm for 10 years at that was a Glock 17.20251101_184242.jpg

I only go once a year if that. EDIT: That round black bit is 20x20cm

This is all very confusing to me. Do you have to leave your keys when you store in these places? Do you park yourself? I'm just trying to understand why one place insists you disconnect the battery and other insists you keep it connected.
In my case one could arrange to drop your vehicle at the office and just leave it there for them to take it into the mine. Or one could elect to drive it in yourself and the attendant would lead you to your spot. I always drove it in myself as i wanted to see where it was stored plus put the cover on it.
I assume they wanted the battery disconnected as to reduce the chances of something shorted out and causing problems. Once you had your car in your spot you handed the attendant your keys and your ride home drove you out of the mine or in my case my wife didnt like driving in the mine so she waited at the office and i rode back with the attendant.
I guess they developed their policies after years of trial and error.

That seems reasonable (I guess?), what's confusing to me is that the place where Odrapnew wants the opposite.

But as far as the reasonableness...is that really a concern, something shorting out because the battery is connected? If it is...then that is something everyone should be worrying about every time they park their car.

Just guessing here but there are all kinds of vehicles being stored there. Some 40/50/60 years old. Many of those could have original wiring or electrical components. If they arent being powered by the battery then even if they malfunction there is no danger.
Wiring in a vehicle does wear out eventually. As already stated maybe that policy developed from past issues.
They also say your vehicle needs to have only a half tank of gasoline or less but they dont really check that. Again maybe an old tank leaked all its gasoline out in the past.

A one-off job for a family friend, thought it was worth a snap and this caption.

Rover. Great Start, Great Finish....................

Built a rolling work table...32" X 32"...mainly going to be a miter saw stand

1) Picked up dog crap

2) Landed a 2 ( possibly 3 or more) year lease with Elon Musk on 1 of my rental homes and am in negotiations for another

Another rolling work table. The downside is the casters get a little rusty due to the water. If I rebuild it, I will use composite decking for top surface.

I finished a week trip down to Mississippi in a rented U haul (Ford Sprinter van). I had to haul stuff back from my dad's estate. It was a new van with only 5000 miles. Mississippi and Alabama compete for worst roads state except around the Mercedes's plant south of the Birmingham. Of course, both have low gas taxes.

Felt like going vintage today! In the 60's, 70's and 80's, this was the soundtrack to Aussie Saturday afternoons across the country. Not to mention the blue haze of 2-stroke drifting across the suburbs.

You can hear the engine revs fluctuate, that is me feathering the throttle and not an issue with the carburettor or ignition. These old girls use a very primitive carburettor and have NO governor, so it's up to the user to control the engine speed................or just run it wide open and all the time. Considering the age of it, I don't like running it at wipe open throttle without a load, even Victa recommended against doing that.

I've got the sprinklers going on the front lawn and I did mow the back, but I had to hose down sections to prevent a dust storm. It's very dry here at the moment, we might get some rain at the weekend.
Is the weather usually that hot over your way Dave? This time of the year, and are you expecting a wet summer.

Landline ABC farming show long range weather forecast said back in mid July we would have a wet spring they weren't wrong.

I don't mind the cold just the high wind gusts and rain I'm over it a little but that's mother nature for you.

The last 3 months have been hotter than normal, 2-4C above the mean highs, and with less than half the normal rainfall. I would happily swap your weather for ours.
