What did you do today non-detailing related?

Mowed the lawns push and ride-on mowers and I finished off poisoning the weeds.

My shoulders were the straps go are very tender and sore.

I tip my hat for the ladies & gentlemen that do garden maintenance full-time.

The weeds have been extra bad this year!
I feel like I am pulling them every day, turn around and my beds are full up again!
 
I had to drop one of the bash plates today, I was fiddling with something and dropped this little sucker, a little 10mm nut, usually it's the 10mm socket that disappears into the engine bay isn't it. I did scrape the dry mud out of it while I had it out.1000045818.jpg
 
When I had well trouble, one of the workers commented that grass like fescue is one of the largest cash groups in the US and yet we do not eat or smoke it. We just grow and cut. Here is NC fescue is more popular than the wire grass types (centipede, bermuda). Summer here is hard on fescue so bare spots get weeds and spreading wire grass. Crabgrass has been less of an issue.
 
I went with my truck to a local landscape company and bought one scoop of top soil. I will spread it in a depression to level the area more so grass will grow better. One scoop was $32.

Feels good when you can do this sort of stuff yourself, instead of paying a tyre technician to do the same minus the possible damage and tyre SLIME.
 
Well it's been 9 day's since the last cut, So out came the push mower and the joy of getting harassed by nesting plovers.

Dad was using the ride on mower with a 20 litre tank on the back and he made a nugde bar into a bull bar for counterbalance with weights.

This is soooooooo much easier to apply poison but his PPE is lacking i told him wear a mask and gloves, his hands are PINK from the dye.......

Bloody Unreal

Towards the end of the day 4:30 i was over it and got out the push mower once again to fix some missed bits because I can only get so close to the trees with out taking my bloody head off and guess what happened.......

I hit a massive rock 🪨 scared the shit out of me and broke the plastic flap clean in half.

I ended up swinging the mower into a 360 and it's stuffed YES my anger got to me.

This mower was on it's 3rd owner and a hand me down from other brother's.
 
Had to get in some much needed range therapy. Had to work on getting back on target after each shot so this was what I would consider rapid shooting. While I was at the range they happened to have a nice sale on the Gen 6 Glock 19s so I treated myself to an early birthday gift.







 
I went to WalMart this evening to get a little frying pan...strolled through the detailing aisle...what a difference a decade or two makes (since I bought any detailing stuff at WalMart). Mostly Chemical Guys, Adams, ArmorAll Oracle Redbull, and Suds Lab, with some Meguiar's and just a touch of Mothers.

22C and some decent UV I dusted the pine pollen of the "Mighty Camry"
and took the old girl for a spin into town, I went past the new tool store and safety store to check out some stuff.

I wanted some work gloves but they are discontinued and the work pants 👖 were $99 - $110 + Sorry not spending that much when there going to get peppered up with grass.

When did work gear all of sudden become fashionable and so expensive.

instead of going into town I should have went for a walk because there were some real idiots on the road today nearly had a head on with a guy up the road that came flying out of his driveway.

Most of the houses passed my address their nature strips are so long and they're full of roadkill it's disgusting.

I used to buy expensive work gloves, then I realised that the cheaper rubberised ones lasted just as long for me, and they were more comfortable. I now get these Mechanix branded ones, same cut resistance but mine are a green knit instead of grey.1000046252.jpg

I think the workwear places have become expensive because all the tradies want the good brands, they want "me too" look. Same reason they want the flashy ute, with the must have silver foil shit at the bottom of the windscreen.

Saw a Nissan NP300? Basically he tinted his bottom front windscreen where the foil would be and had the top bit done also, HOW TF can that be allowed 😤 The police here are hopeless in traffic/ADR laws and rules.

They simply don't want to do the paperwork.

Saw a white Mitsubishi Lancer today with P plate doing 100km/h in a 60 zone. And get this the police have a advert on TV saying.


"We must protect these drivers as they are new vulnerable drivers"

YEAH RIGHT tell that to the poor pedestrian/cyclists/ dog walker
I couldn't care less about the driver it's the victim/victims i care about. 🤬🤬🤬
