Hi Mike,
I have been detailing for fun in my garage since 2001-ish, and I really enjoy it. Recently I became addicted to everything Auto Geek, so much so that my wife often tells me "no more Geek for you"! After contacting a rep at Auto Geek regarding coatings I selected the Pinnacle Black Label ceramic coating kit for paint, glass and wheels. My wife's brand new 2017 Jeep Wrangler JKU in Billet Silver was my test vehicle and it really turned out great, but I couldn't figure out how to post pics to AG. The Coating has been on her Jeep for several weeks now and I'd like to put wax or sealer on it to enhance depth of color and protection. I have GG BOSS Finish Sealant, Paint Sealer, One Step Sealer, Best in Show Wax, the original GG PC Random Orbital Polisher and the GG G21 to use for this job. What do you suggest? I live in Michigan and the winters can be tough so I'll likely do this very soon and again in the fall. Thank you for your help.
Dan.

i wouldn't bother putting anything over it, maybe get the boost or something but no need for a wax. And most of the ones you mention you have, have cleaners and such, wouldtn help the coating. If were you, wash and leave alone!

:iagree:

I don't put anything on my coatings. Keep it clean and enjoy the benefits of a coating, one of which is not having to continually reapply a lsp.

Well the clear coat protects the base coat, the coating protects the clear coat, but what will protect the coating?!? We have to get a 7 layer paint protection burrito cooking before any real protection can be achieved!

Well maybe he wants to add the wax for looks not protection. The product page says you can do it.

I'd try a nice finishing wax to see if you like the way it looks.

Thanks for the input everybody. You're right about the looks, it looks great now but there's always better. I will likely order the Pinnacle kit, it sounds like several members are endorsing it for maintenance.

Mmmmm, seven layer burrito....Mmmmm

Experimentation great but si02/ceramic coatings are not compatible with wax. That's just the way it is. You can experiment all you want but it's not going to make it look better that's just a fact.

pick a side

every coating is different, silica, resin based etc. so just go by what the manufacture states.

Give the PBL paint coating booster a try every 3 monthes✌

Picture posting is kind of a mystery for most people, don't feel bad. I used to write articles on this topic but people don't read any more either...

The Coating has been on her Jeep for several weeks now and I'd like to put wax or sealer on it to enhance depth of color and protection.

I have

GG BOSS Finish Sealant, <-- this has abrasives in it and will remove the coating.

Paint Sealer, <-- as long as its s non-cleaning product or non-abrasive product it would be safe

One Step Sealer, <-- Anytime a product says One-step or AIO this means it's likely a "cleaner/wax" or "cleaner/sealant" and this means it has cleaners or abrasives and will remove the coating.

Best in Show Wax, <-- I believe this is a NON-cleaning wax and would be safe to apply

What do you suggest?

Like others said, I wouldn't put something on top of a coating as you defeat the purpose and benefits of the coating.

When you apply something over the top of the coating you no longer get the benefits and features of the coating but you get the benefits and the features of the thing you put on top of the coating.

I use PBL on the wife's SL 500 and I maintain it with the PBL Detailer and the PBL Booster

The Detailer is water based and will remove dust, fingerprints and smudges. It will also remove any small water spots on the paint after you wash and dry the Jeep. The kind of tiny droplets of water that leave an impression after drying, not the kind of water spots that etch the paint.

The Booster is solvent based and it won't remove anything, it will seal the surface and anything on the surface so only use it on perfectly clean paint.

Ouch! Living in in Michigan is tough on a car. I'd suggest you find and use a local "touchless car wash" to keep the car clean when you cannot personally hand wash the car.

How to wash a coated car - The Gentle Approach for Washing a Car by Mike Phillips

Give the PBL paint coating booster a try every 3 months

I use it every other wash or so... interchange it with the detailer.

Paint always looks great. The car washes and dries fast too...
