Hey guys,

I picked up 2 32 oz bottles of 303 Aerospace protectant over black friday and it arrived today Im the MAN

What do you guys use it for?

I was wondering if I could use it in the following areas:

1. Window and windshield black rubber trim

2. Black plastic trim around the car (exhaust diffuser, front air intake grille, black plastic side skirs etc. )

3. Side steps on my dads car

4. Wheel wells

Can it be used on these areas and if so, how would I apply it to the above mentioned areas?

Applicator pad and then dry using a towel? What about the wheel wells?

I also thought about using it on the interior but I'll stick to my meguairs interior products after reading a lot of negative reviews of 303 on the interiors.

Thanks :)

I use it on my weather stripping, to preserve them.

I use it on interior plastic trim and on coated leather during the summer months for the UV protection. Use it on anything you think will need protection from fading and cracking. Can tend to be a bit greasy feeling after application so I avoid the steering wheel and tires.

#3.? NO!!

Bob

What could I use for that purpose Bob? The black plastic on the side steps seem to be fading a little bit and I've seen people who restore it nicely in some "show and shine" posts.

I'm not sure what the term weather stripping means, my bad. Is it the black rubber like trim around windows and windshield on the outside of the car?

Awesome thanks, I hope it works on the soft touch plastics in the VW golf but will avoid the dash, steering and tyres :)

Interior only

Thanks :)

I only use it on surfaces that don't contact the exterior: dashboard, seats, doors, luggage cover, engine.

My cars are almost always indoors: only when I am on my summer holidays I tend to make use of it.

I use it on weatherstripping, plastic rear diffuser and black trim on the side/under my mirrors. I don't use it on my tires any more because for some reason it browns my tire, never have that issue with any other tire dressing. This is after using DP tire cleaner multiple times to make sure my tire is very clean before applying. Other than that it's great!

Is there a particular reason why not exterior, or is it just personal preference?

I love 303 Aerospace Protectant on engines!

Awesome, thanks guys!

Making a list of possible areas to use as I write this :)

...

I don't find it durable at all when subjected to the "elements" (except the sun...for obvious reasons!).

I use it on my side steps on my Suburban and also on the plastic fender flares and plastic bumpers on my wife's Jeep. I really like it.

Ahh alright, that makes sense. Thanks :)

Thanks man!

Where exactly are these reviews/comments that say 303 doesn't work well for an interior protectant? :dunno:

Considering it makes a VERY good interior protectant I'm confused.

As for exterior, being water based it tends to come off fairly quickly. Much better exterior protectants and especially 'sealants' out there.:)

He's probably referring to that dude from the other day who's been going on and on about applying 303 Protectant on his dash and it causing him to go blind.

Btw, we never even got to see any pics of that..

Hahaha yes I am, you got me! Also, i read another post the other day which said the smell is really strong. I currently use Meguiars QID which I quite like in terms of smell and finish.

I will try it on a conspicuous area before applying it all over just to make sure. My dash is soft touch plastic - sort of like a leather finish.

Just wondering what surfaces is it safe on to use in the interior without causing problems, this car was quite expensive so don't want to mess up.

Does the Owner's Manual have any
recommendations on what (or what not)
to use to maintain this material?
