What is this stuff?

You mean you saw this at the store, took a picture and don't know what it is?:awman:

Our local auto parts store has this product too. There aren't many videos of it on youtube. I think I found 2-3 is all.

I'm wondering if it's similar to LiquidGlass? Both products, it seems, are in a class of their own...meaning they're not your typical abrasive compound or polish let alone your typical paint sealant.

In fact, I believe both LiquidGlass and TR-3 to be resins of some sort.

LiquidGlass, at least the bottle I looked at the other day, can be used on BaseCoat/ClearCoat paint systems, while my research of TR-3 has been a little complicated.

Reviews of TR-3 on their website sound as if some in the past have used this product on BC/CC paint, but I've noticed their "about" page eludes to it being used on BC/CC though there is not an official recommendation.

Actually, the last time I looked they seemed to change their less than "official" recommendation from eluding to TR-3 being used on BC/CC to now NOT recommending it...as those red labels now indicate.

In the past I did not see the red labels on those cans and their website "eluded" to the product being used on BC/CC. Again, that has obviously changed.

Here's a thought:

Most paint systems today are BC/CC. So, who are they really marketing to?

I didn't know that was even still around.

"We" had it on the shelves when I was still hawking auto parts (2004), all it did was to collect dust, lotza dust!

Remember seeing it being advertised on the TV back when I was a kid. If memory serves me correct, Broderick Crawford was the pitch man.

Ah, Pity the Fool!

The one(s) I was remembering go back another 25 years or so. Seems the script was the same, just different spokesmen.

Good find Bill.

With its chemical ingredients being what
they are...(I'm thinking in the same
vein as Collinite #850's ingredients)...

IMO:
It would make for a metal "wax".

I was in a hurry so I didn't take time to read the back and all that. "Resin Glaze" and the retro bottle threw me off. There old school bottling works at catching your eye though. I wasn't even looking at the OTC products just walking by. Thanks to AGO I pass that isle like its the land of misfit toys.

Seeing the photo brings back memories. Last time I used it is probably 25 years ago. I don't remember if I liked it.
