Just wondering what menzerna product would be closest to the cutting ability of m105.

If I'm not mistaken, most Menzerna products are DAT... While M105 is SMAT.
Apples and bananas here..

I've read that Power Gloss leaves alot of marring and that as a result some will choose to go with Super Intensive Polish SI 1500 (PO83) instead.

I think you are right.

"A high concentration of abrasives combined with their uniform size and shape enable Power Gloss Compound to level paint defects using consistent abrasive action. The abrasives are not bigger or harder than in a polish. There’s simply more abrasives to repeatedly go over the blemish, gradually leveling the paint and then refining it as the abrasives shrink."

PG will remove more defects than SIP so you would just need to follow up with some SF and you'll be good to go!

That's understood. But if you get what you need done with a slightly less aggressive polish that leaves a better finish, why not?

Menz SIP is really good. I've recently found myself using it more and more over 105. However, 105 is more aggressive and still has a prominent place in my detailing arsenal.

I disagree in that regardless of how the compounds get the job done, DAT vs. SMAT, they still have a cutting ability relative to other compounds. The difference is how you have to work each product to achieve good results. DAT compounds have to be worked long enough to break down the abrasives or you get a less then stellar finish. SMAT products are more forgiving. That doesn't change how they compare on a scale of aggressivity.
