What motor oil do you all use for your personal vehicles?

So now that I no longer have the Mustang, I can finally do all my own maintenace. It was very difficult before because the Mustang sat so low it was impossible to get underneath it.

Now w/ the Sentra, (and being a 4 cyl.) it makes it a whole new ball game.

I'm thinking of Mobile 1 Full Synthetic at 5,000 miles intervals. Does this sound ok?

I don't think it's worth paying the extra for the extended life full synthetic which is supposedly good for 15,000 miles. Even if I got this, I would never go that long w/out an oil change.


Also, what's a good oil filter to get?
 
I have a 2006 Cadillac Srx with the synthetic Mobile I. Car has on board computer that tells you when oil is used up percentage wise. My first oil change was at 7,500 miles. At least that what the computer said. Dealer said even with synthetic oil you should change it at least once a year if you hit mileage limit or not.

I use ENEOS motor oil with TRD Japan filter. :righton:
If you are going to run Mobil 1 oil why not get a
Mobil 1 filter, you will not have any trouble with any one
you choose if you change oil and filter on regular intervals. :)

Mobil 1 or pennzoil platinum with a Pure1 filter....both oils get great ratings and also the pure1 filter when cut open showed as good if not better filter media and construction as the Mobil 1 filter

Mobil 1 0W-20 with a K&N oil filter. 0-20 is the greatest oil i have used to date!

:P My mower gets Penzoil Platinum 5W-30 and it runs great.
 
Mobile 1 synthetic 5w-30 for the vette; the rest we use Chevron 10w-30 from Costco.
 
Schaeffer's 7000 series or Amsoil XT both 5W-30. Depends on which one I have on hand at the time. I am happy with Wix/Napa Gold filters.
 
Mobil Drive Clean for normal oil and amsoil for synthetic. I use them with oem or Bosch Premium filters.
 
I use Mobil 1/Castrol Syntec 5w20 on Acura, and Castrol regular on Infiniti I30 (daily driver). Changing oil every 3000-3500 miles (that's twice as often as recommended for Acura).
 
Mobil 1 only ... both SRX and Corvette.... both came from factory that way. Have used for years without one major overhaul or large expense.

First change 3000 miles, then all car computer to tell you when to change going forward. About 5000-7500 miles. Make sure to use a very good filter.
 
Mobil 1 0W20 - 04 Accord Honda Filtech filter > change 7500-8000 miles or annually
Mobil 1 5W30 - 03 Corolla Toyota filter > change 7500-8000 miles or annually
Volvo synth 30 weight - 05 Honda Mower ** > change twice annually
Ryobi 2 stroke synth - all 2 cycle lawn equipment

** brilliant engine but no drain plug........you pick up the mower and POUR the old oil out!!!!! Cost cutting at its best.

I was running M1 5w20 but after doing some reading on bitog.com on MC I decided to switch

Eh..... I used to use Mobil 1, but since I don't change my own oil anymore, I take it my buddies lube shop, which they use Castrol.
 
I use castrol gtx in my cobalt with an acdelco filter change when it tells me to. I usually have to pull the fender up a little while putting the jack under, or drive on a board because I'm a few centimeters to low to fit under.
 
I use Royal Purple in mine. Change it at 7K And my gf use's Amsoil in her ride, she changes it once a year. Or every 15'000 miles
