I'm gradually getting my brother into this addiction. After we cleaned and protected the paint on one of his vehicles, I introduced him to Klasse AIO. He is very happy with the difference it made in cleaning and protecting many parts of his truck. He has chrome nerf bars with black rubber or plastic nonskid step areas. He is happy with the improvement KAIO made to the steel portion of the nerfs.

The nonskid areas look pretty dingy. Without making them slick either in dry or rainy weather (ie keeping the "non" part of the nonskid attribute), what can we use to clean and protect them? (I hearken to the warning I read about not using Klasse AIO to clean the floor of a shower .... )

The best thing Ive found for this exact use is oddly Prima Hydro. Everything else is too slippery or doesnt work well. Or you can use one of the trim coatings

I've tried a lot on my truck and so far the best thing I have used is Chemical Guys Black on Black. It leaves a deep black finish but isn't slick at all. Everything else I tried made my feet slip every time I tried to get in and out of the truck.

Thanks for the input, guys.
swanicyouth: Never thought of Hydro. Thanks. And yes, I was wondering about the Gtechniq Trim Restorer, whether that left a hydrophobic finish, which seems like it would be slick after a rain.

Twister: Yep, that's what I was afraid of. I surprised myself by thinking of it in advance this time. My usual method would be, as I'm in midair falling backwards after slipping on the step, to think hmm ... apparently that product makes the step slick. :-) I'll look at CG Back on Black. Thank you.
