I am leaning to get a Griot's ROP and was wondering what pads and other products to get. I own a Sterling Grey 2013 Mustang GT and want to keep it looking nice. I wash it often, but need to find a wax and polish for it. I do not have a garage, so it will be kept outdoors.

I watched the review of the collinite 845 and was planning on going that route in terms of wax. Below are what I have picked out. Anything I should add? Not trying to break the bank in terms of the costs of each product. But, can buy things piece by piece if needed.

1. Pre-wax Polish Pinnacle Paintwork Cleansing Lotion will restore and preserve your car's original beauty.
2. Dispenser Bottle Meguiars 16 oz. Self Cleaning Dispenser Bottle, squeeze bottle, polish dispenser
3. Wax Pad for DA Polisher Hydro-Tech 6.5 Inch Crimson Finishing Foam Pad
4. Polishing Pad for DA Polisher Hydro-Tech 6.5 Inch Tangerine Ultra Polishing Foam Pad
5. High Quality Microfiber Towels - already own some (maybe buy more?)

Since you're just starting out why not switch to 5.5" pads now before you build a collection. While the GG DA has the power to handle the 6.5" pads you'll get more efficient performance from the 5.5" pads. A 5" backing plate will cost you $15-$20 now, but you'll save money each time you purchase pads as you move forward. Keep in mind you'll need about 4 pads for each step.

I have heard about people switching to 5in backplate. I assume auto geek sells then? I couldn't find them before when I searched. Also, what pads are recommended? I thought only crimson and tangerine are all I would need.

I was in the same position. In my case, I took advantage of the discount offer and got myself a dozen pads. It's a tough pill to swallow but as to what Mike said, you can never have too many pads :)

I got the orange (5), white (5) and black (2) pads btw.

Yeah I got the Griots 6in on this past one day sale. Will buy pads, etc next sale. Figured I would ask so I am prepared.
