What Pump to Feed Pressure-Washer?

Hi all

I have a 200gallon water tank in my van but need a pump to feed into my pressure washer (Flow Rate: 2.8 gpm/10.6 Lpm).


What pump would you guys suggest? I need something commercial grade since this is for a business. I have a power generator in the van so electricity is not an issue.

I use this one, have for 4 years. Been a great little pump, feeds my 1800 / 1.8gpm electric and my 4000 / 4.0 gpm gas. SHURflo (JABSCO) pumps are truly little work horses. I service/winterize literally hundreds of them at my marina every year.
Failure of these pumps is almost non-existant, and even then it's almost always user-related abuse.

Btw, if I buy a pump, does it need to be on-demand pump? I actually found a continous flow pump rated at 8GPM.

I would say no. I run my marina pressure washer (Large, 5500 psi) with a constant (60lb) feed.

But, I can't see how a pressure shut-off (on demand) pump would hurt either way.

I would go with on demand, save the wear on the pump. Unless you put in a recirculate line you will just put unneeded wear and tear on the pump or even burn it up if it's not designed run without flow.
