I don't have the black plastic moulding on my vehicle, I've got stainless steel. That's it there, separating the blue from the silver.

I've tried chrome polish and aluminum polish on it, both have been ineffective. I'd like recommendations for stainless steel specific polishes that any of you have had good luck with in the past.

Thank you in advance for your input.

What are you trying to accomplish? Just bring the shine back or remove scratches and swirls?

Eagle one wadding polish (used with #0000 steel wool) is the best combo of the metal polishes that I've tried. Most are useless at removing any deposits. I use this on my tail pipes and it works great.

Stainless is considerable harder than aluminum. You need speed and an aggressive polish.

Tape off the adjacent areas, and use something like our PowerBall Mini MD and its corresponding PowerMetal Scratch Removing Polish, or another aggressive metal polish.

My experience is you'll never get satisfactory, uniform, results doing those pieces by hand.
