So where I live there is a really bad drought and as a result there is a water restriction. You cant wash your car at home, only commercial car washes or the manual car washes are open. The problem with the manual places is the very high pressure hoses and guns they use. Is there a way to wash a car with this and not have it strip the paint off from the crazy pressure on those things? I guess its either this or find a place to wash my car and not get caught somewhere doing it right.

Alot of people are going to say a ONR or waterless wash, might be the same but Im new. I've saw a thread where people used to 5 gallon buckets, one with the ONR solution and the other to rinse, to good effect.

I'm suffering through water restrictions here as well. Here's what I've been doing...

Get a couple of 5 gallon buckets from AG with the gamma seal lids and mix up your shampoo and rinse buckets.
Head over to the local pay and spray just take care to either stand far enough away from the car to keep the high pressure spray from hitting it or when that's not possible, just don't depress the the trigger. At the place I go, water still comes out just a lower volume and pressure.
Get a B&D cordless leaf blower to start the drying process because there's no way to sheet it off with high volume/low pressure. I usually go at night, it's well lit and that way nobody minds me doing a hand wash.

Here in the Atlanta area to be completely safe I use a couple of gallons of distilled water [keep your receipt for the water cops] and NO Rinse wash & shine.

Even better is just to use water from the sink and wash in the garage (if you have one) away from prying eyes. I use rinseless wash soap in my garage during the winter and there is very little puddling that occurs.

wait till evening ... go behind a business, and carry your own faucet handle. Leave a 10.00 bill under the door for water bill !
