Well with the fall buffer deal, I can't help but upgrade to the newer PCXP. So I guess I will retire the old under powered PC and take advantage of the sale......but what to do with the retired PC?
I would imagine there are a lot of old PC's sitting around, so what is everyone doing with them?

I would personally hold on to it. I dont like letting a machine go just because you never know when one will go down on you.

Pay it forward... give it somebody just starting or wanting to learn machine detailing

You can buy a smaller backing plate for it and use the smaller 3" and 4" pads for those smaller areas you need to buff out. That is what I use mine for, plus I always have a back up if something happens to my other one.

I held on to my old PC and use it for my dedicated carpet machine after I got some of those PC carpet brushes.

I bought a couple of smaller backing plates and use it for tight spots when I'm working out swirls. For the most part I leave it set up for applying sealants and waxes.....:props:

Well I'll be, will you look at those! I never even knew they existed....:dunno:

After surfing AG for years and I never saw these! Thanks.....order placed.

End of story...keeping classic PC for carpets and a back up in case the new XP let's me sit.

Thanks everyone.:props:

I donated mine to my little brother and got him detailing obsessed. He has now moved onto the Flex DA. I should ask for it back and donate it to a neighbor so they get hooked and I don't look like the only one cleaning my car all the time.

i upgraded to a Flex3401 and I am only going to use my PC now to apply glazes and get a 3.5" backing plate and some 4" pads to use where the flex has a hard time with the larger pads.
Also as someone else said you can keep both machines in use..have a different pad on each and different compound and do both passes to each section as you go.
