I've been talking to people that do headlight restoration. I tell them that I seal them with Opti Lens and that is advertised as permanent.

They then say they use clear coat to seal them.

So my question what would make using opti lens vs CC better? Or vice versa

Thank You,
Art

Krylon makes a UV resistant clear and i've used it with success on headlights.

I'd say Opti Lens' biggest advantage over a spray clear coat is application. No worries about over spray and no need to tape off the area.

Opti Lens is a clear coat. So if the customer tosses the term "clear coat", i wouldn't hesitate to tell them it's a clear coat with UV protection.

you guys make good points, I did not think of the UV protection when I got asked what would be the difference. I am sure they are using automotive cc. (not 100% sure) but given the fact that that they use the body shops paint, I am somewhat sure.

I can say that this won't need to be waxed and also will not start to fade overtime and with proper care and maintenance it will last you longer than CC and I can also say that opti lens is designed specifically for headlights.

Thanks :dblthumb2:
