Hello everyone, ok im new enough I cant seem to find the schmitt mitt that has been mentioned on this board. Is it a code name for another product? Im looking for a good wash glove tyep thing for washing motorcycles. Thanks! Drew

Thank you! DUH must be the german in me. Always gotta ad the letter C in anything! LOL!

Ok, its a very interesting product. But whats your opinion, better than microfiber wash mitts and saver against scratches?

Many opinions on where specific wash tools follow in order of greatness but I believe you will find that most people rank micro fiber mitts below that of a quality lambs wool mitt. The ShMitts in my opinion rival the level of the wool mitt. I also happen to like a good Natural Sea Sponge but that's a different thread.

The ShMitts ability to pull dirt away from the surface and hold until rinsed is very good and they last a long time also. They are certainly worth a try. I would recommend them.

A big thumbs up. I have used sponges ( a very long time ago), MF wash mitts and the wool wash mitts. What bothered me about wool and MF mitts is there inherit quality of trapping the grit inside their fibers. That really bothered me when washing my car. Especially with wool. You know the grit is trapped up there, deep in the pile of the wool. But is it safe? When you look at a very deeply soaked wool mitt the fibers are flat, not thick looking, thereby exposing that potential to scratch your paint.

The Shmitt is not a sponge. It's a high quality, durable foam but very soft. When washing your car, you can see the grit instaneously which you can easily rinse out because you don't have the problem like MF trapping the grit - or the wool fibers as well. Using the scrape method along the edge of the rinse bucket really reduces the potential of the grit staying on. The method is to scrape the Shmitt over the top edge of the rinse bucket so that the waster water flows "outside" of the bucket. Step 2, you shake the Shmitt inside the rinse bucket a few times. Step 3, you scrape again on the rinse lid so that the water scrapes off. You inspect the face of the Shmitt and you can see if any grit is left over.

Using the Shmitt and the scrape method, I typically get 2 to 3 pieces of grit in my rinse bucket and I am averaging about 0 pieces of grit in my soap bucket. Right there, you have reduced the potential to introduce new swirls from a wash. This is a break through product and break through method.

***IMPORTANT** I have no affiliation with Edge or Shmitt. I approached this new product with a tremendous amount of skeptism, but I tried and words can not express my experience using these Shmitts!

This with the Guzzler that is on sale is my next purchase for sure! You guys are the best...thanks for the reviews Justin and Sergie!

After using the Shmitt my sheep skin/micro/chenille mitts and Sea Sponge see no use;). Except on wheels since I don't have the wheel Shmitt and would rather keep my washing Shmitt away from brake dust etc.

@Sergie, special thanks for your best review. I´m sure, I have to get some ShMITTS. Is there anybody who will place an order to AG and order the ShMITT for me and send it to germany? Ordering by myself would be very very expensive :(

don't feel too badly ... i think i have called it a schmitt like every freaking time! lol
shmitt.....shmitt.... pretty soon i will add another vowel, or something! hee hee lol
mental block there!!!

I just used my ShMITT for the first time on Saturday and I hooked! I had been using sponges before this, and I'll never go back. The ShMITT is very soft and soaks up a ton of water. It's big, too, so you can wash your car in no time!

The only "gripe" I have is that since it's bigger and your hand is inside of it, that you can sometimes miss small spots. I might just have to get used to it a little bit more.

BUT MAN do I love the Guzzler! I LOVE IT I LOVE IT!!!

Shmitts are awesome. Don't know if you've seen it but it looks like the "EZ Detail" brush would be a good combo with a Shmitt for motorcycles.
