I just bought a 2008 Super Duty. It was built in Jan 08. The truck is oxford white with gold 2 tone.

Would it be better to use wax or sealant for the first detail? White doesnt really "shine" like dark colors do so Im thinking sealant. Also should I layer sealant if thats the way I go?

Thanks
Steve R

Oxford is such a dull white I would probably go with a sealant. It would probably pull the white and gold out more. I've only tried 3 sealants (PB Ex and EX-P and WG Deep Gloss Sealant). Due to the ease of use and it looks great on Crystal White WG DGS has been my sealant of choice. You can top any sealant with a wax after it's cured fully. WG DGSx2 then topped with SSII would be a good combo and both very easy to use.
I've read others really like Duragloss #105 on white as well.

Mine; oxford white Expedition; Klasse AIO topped with LS
Wife; white Maxima; RMG with Sig Series II or Souveran
Mother-in-law; pearl white Avalon; DG #105 topped with AW
We all argue that ours looks the best. They all look good. Hard pressed I'd go with the SSII, but it will need more applications.

alot of my corvetteforum brothers with white Vettes are now using Soveran paste from Pinnacle. They say it looks super wet ...

For some reason all GM whites I have seen respond great to pinnacle products. For my fathers white ford I used Poorboys EXP on top of their polish with sealent and it looks sick. You cannot go wrong for their price either.

I personally love Nattys Blue on my white Ford truck. Since it has darkening abilities, it gives the white a noticeably warmer glow. Though with time constraints I pretty much stick to AW right now for my vehicles.

DG 105 and AW is great combo on white.

Since it's a white truck, DG #601, followed by #105 with AW in between washings would be my choice.

I had an Oxford White 2001 Mustang GT. So this is right up my alley.

For sealants, I really loved DG #105. Great shine and protection.

For waxes, I've always been with Surfer on this one. I love how Poorboy's Natty Blue has always looked on white. Gives it a little darker tone and some depth for white paint.

DP MaxWax is decent. To me, it was just a good quality carnauba wax, didn't really add anything though.

Sprays: DG AW for the mother freakin win! Killer product IMO.

My #1 choice, Poorboy's Natty's Blue:

The best combo I have YET to see on white is Duragloss 501 followed by Duragloss 105.. sit back and go WOW!!

Next day once the 105 has fully set up it will look even more amazing!

Exactly..any one who has used 501 on white has said it does something to white that really doe it well...it just makes it so bright....you can top it with 105 if wanted..but 501 will hold its own as far as durability...it super deep cleans paint and is a sealant also...its not a big investment either...

Its a Marine polish(sealant) made for a surface being exposed to water and salt..and its super slick to retard oils and scum from sticking to the paint...so imagine what it can do with this harsh enviorment on a car..try it..you will not regret it on a white paint...or any paint really...
