What's the difference between Optimum Hyper compound and Compound II?

Mike,

I've been eye-balling the Optimum Hyper compound lately. The unlimited work-time is just too much for me to say no to, but I have a fairly new bottle of the Optimum Compound II.

My question, is Optimum Hyper Compound a diminishing or non-diminishing abrasive and how much like Meg's 105 is it? I do a LOT of work in direct sunlight and must admit, dusting is the worst part of detailing for me. I can't stand it. It drives me BONKERS! SO, that being said, I'd like to take the plunge and purchase some Hyper Compound, but only if it will rival the corrective capabilities of Meg's 105.

This is to the rest of the forum members, I'm really not looking for fan-boy opinions here. If it's possible to put them side-by-side and test, or if someone has done this before and can comment, that's what I'm needing, not people telling me nothing beats M105/205. I just want a product that doesn't dust at all, and so far, Optimum is the only one I've found that doesn't dust up or leave unmanageable residue on the surfaces I'm working on.

Thanks in advance to any and everyone who responds.

Adam

You might want to ask this question on the Optimum forum. Tons of experienced Optimum users/pros, who undoubtedly have a lot of side by side info.

See ya.

there is a comparison chart on the store site under tips and tricks. it says swirl removers and compound chart and is located towards the bottom of the page

great polishes with alot of work time ... unfortunately seems to get hidden behind Menzerna and Megs.

Here's the deal: You buy a bigger canopy, say 12 X 15, and I'll dust your side of the car. :xyxthumbs:

"Nothing beats #105/#205" ... :dblthumb2:

Ha, couldn't resist.

lol I knew John would come here and give me doo-doo. :P

My 10x10 works for now. When you and I are making mad amounts of money, then we can get a garage and SCREW the canopy!! lol

Thanks everyone for your responses! :D Does anyone know if it has non-diminishing abrasives or is there a way to find out? The charts were especially helpful. I would have thought the hyper compound were a little harder cutting, but it's still a couple steps above the compound II I use quite often. Looks like I'll have to get me some and test it out
