what's the last car care/detailing video you've just watched?

I watched another Yvan and Nick video about missed areas. I wonder if Nick likes playing the role as the "dumb" one where Yvan gets to school him. They were wearing red latex gloves, matching red shoes, etc.

Most of everything that was mentioned is what turns a simple maintenance wash into much longer sessions. It gets into jambs, under hood, fuel door, trunk, corners in windows, wheel wells, barrels, etc.

I would never attempt cleaning jambs with an APC and a keg sprayer. Then he takes a pressure washer and spray into jambs to "agitate". This seems to be asking for trouble

Didn't he say pressure washing dirt scratches your paint?

Anyway, I pressure wash door jambs if required. Your technique needs to be on point though, and I'll only do the lower door and door sills. Saves a lot of time and mess on unmaintained door jambs.

I feel like the more recent (and related) posts have drifted over here so I'll post this here. AGO finally made it to the show!

I wonder what makes the MK37 Floor Mat product different from their APC. When you get a brush out like that, I would think many products would work.

I wonder about how different it is too. I sisally use Adam’s Tire and rubber and it cleans them well. I was testing McKee’s out since it came in a glovebox and was supposed to be floor mat specific. It may be marketed as a specialized product when an APC or tire/ rubber cleaner is just as good.

Wait a minute, are you saying that M37 might have more products than you actually need??? Last time I looked they were just about as bad as Chemical Guys.
They have regular, regular foam, ceramic, sio2, and graphene soaps. I sense they want to have the popular adjectives of the day. In an Adam's chemist discussion, he said while detailing chemistry evolves the folks using the current stuff often do not want to change so end up with multiple products doing the same basic task.

That would also explain the ancient line of products that Meguiar's still offers. 20 different detail sprays that all do the same thing, 10 soaps that are all gloopy and hard to dose, 12 different tire dressings that are all labeled tire "shine", ie glossy, you'd think if you were going to offer so many tire dressings, they'd at least make them look different.

This is the worst though. I took a 10+yr hiatus from detailing and when I got back it was so hard with some of these extensive lines. I recall Meguiar's being so full of old and new products I may have spent 6 months just researching stuff here on AGO to see if something was even still in production and if so, can I find it in the US.

At some point, these mfgs should just cut losses or risk aging out themselves. I sincerely doubt the OG enthusiasts for some of the old products justify the costs of production.
