what's the last car care/detailing video you've just watched?

Is the record breaking year because the product comparison for everything is Dawn?

I gave the benefit of the doubt thinking they want to show car care is easy with the right products and easy to do... but the website is a hot mess in every product category with tons of products.
What was that, a black wheel? Because I couldn't tell much difference after he used his product, maybe because I was watching the small size in the post. Seems like if you wanted to showcase it you would use a silver wheel?

Spade is a spade... that was really bad marketing

We have our favorites, can't argue with Bilt-Hamber, Gyeon & CarPro but for me, Armor Detail Supply, Labocosmetica and Griot's Garage is in my Top 10 and based off of their RW & Ceramic Spray Detailer, Feynlab as well️Because of how damn impressive Feynlab v3 RW and Ceramic Spray Detailer TRUELY are, it makes me wanna try their Ceramic coating but my current one, ADS Ceramic coating, is only 1.3 yrs old and I'm beyond happy with it and it's not even their Pro version, thankfully I've got time to see what goes on next....stay "tuned"

I have 2 SUVs that I cannot reach easily without either using opening the doors or using the platform. The sellers of these poles never mention how they dry without doing something similar even if the pole worked for washing - an incomplete solution. The mitt on a pole has been around for years and then DIY Detail markets a brush (with extra flagging on bristles) and somehow this is considered a game changer. I noticed people using it on roofs are only cleaning with a third of the bristles maybe 3 rows because it is a fixed angle. I noted this to DIY Detail on Facebook and all they said had 2 angles The molded base is V shaped.
I have large drying towels and i just throw them up there, let sit for a bit and then slowly drag towards me

I got some Feynlab Rinseless V3 for Christmas but the weather hasn’t cooperated for me to try it. Your pair is making me really want to use it.

Big fan of the Forensic Detailing channel. Jon has a lot of UK favorites in his line up. Ive got a few non USA products such as CarPro, Sonax and Labrocosmetica. All good stuff.
But seeing as i live in the USA i tend to use and support brands made in the USA. My go to brands are Feynlab, Jescar, Collinite, Superior Products, Meguiars, Technitians Choice, Meguiars, Turtle Wax. All good brands and tend to be less expensive than foreign made brands .

This is DIY’s new quick detailer. It supposedly has more protection than Ceramic Gloss. It is definitely slick!

I'm sure you'll do a video, try and make sure the vehicle is dirty though! Btw do you have a clear bucket? I ask because Feynlab v3 RW is THEE strongest RW out there (Carbon Collective is right there though). This product NEVER disappoints and as I've said before about it..."You can see the clean!"

I will do my best.

I saw video posted on THOR regarding Pan's 8 year coating. The review noted several areas were losing hydrofobics even after decon. Well, the poster blocked Pan from responding to the video so they took the video down. It was a pretty reasonable discussion until the admins found out that Pan was blocked.

Are you referring to this video? It was posted on this content creators channel as he has been documenting his journey with Pan's coating.

The poster said he invited Pan to comment on the video but Pan did not respond.
I didnt hear anything about Pan being blocked.
It seemed the poster was breing very sincere about the content so he is either a very good liar or Pan never responded.
Anyway it seems Pans 8 year coating lasts just beyond a year. It seems many of the ceramic coatings are being oversold/overpromised

Yeah, a coating not lasting for as long as advertised...whodathunkit? Some companies told us we had to use their ceramic spray after ever wash or somthing, then "you have decon", but it would seem for most coatings, well short of their touted lifespans, that they may still be there, but are no longer exhibiting the properties we applied them for. What a surprise for something only a few microns thick.

While we're on the subject, something that kinda slipped under the radar at SEMA is the Optimum Opti-Shield liquid film. This is a pro coating that is supposed to bridge the gap between a coating and PPF. Apparently you can get 1, 2, or 3 layers with correspondingly longer warranties. Supposed to be 15X thicker than a ceramic coating (unclear if that's at 1 layer or 3).

They had a completely ridiculous video on the OPT YouTube channel of I guess a Canadian installer shooting BB's at the trunk of his car, to which he had applied 1 coat on one side, and 2 coats on the other side, and professing his amazement that there was no damage, and that this was somehow proof that stones wouldn't chip your paint anymore. Of course he didn't shoot the BB at an uncoated section. Also, rocks are sharp and BB's aren't, but what do I know.

Pan's product not living up to the hype, you don't say

Well I've got ADS non-Pro Ceramic coating on my EN. It was applied Oct of 2024 where the EN lived outside 24/7 for the next 11 monthes, maintained along the way and now it's been Garage kept since Sept of 2025, still maintained. I'm saying this because I see myself re-applying a fresh coat after 2 yrs, just to be on the safe side but will be stepping up to their PRO Ceramic coating

Without going back to look at the thread I started after unsubscribing to his channel, I still contend his brand will be out of business by next year, good riddance

One of the rebuttal options offered was "well, yeah, but a lot of coatings need touch-up to meet their claims". That felt like a dodge and a swerve to offer a simple answer but when did we get to the point of coating touch-up to meet the stated durability?

This should provide a little January reading entertainment I suppose.

They're currently keeping that one brand on discount so definitely something is up. However, my money is on just a bunch of V2 products from him (Clean) vs going away so THOR probably needs to keep the negative publicity down if they want to move the old stuff.

And P.S. if you're going PRO, you should probably just stack the other on top.

I completely disagree with this part, but I can understand why you can think this. Posts from a detailing group on FB kept popping up on my feed and there were a few questions I could answer for some rookies so I joined. Recently someone posted how the UToob detailers are fooling the public with their marketing BS and tricking people into believing that their coatings will actually last 8 years. The lengths the group members went to defend the UToob brands was insane. It was cult like. And ever since then, any time someone asks for a suggestion on what products to buy, a huge swath of people suggest Pan, DIY and even Jimbo’s line. There’s close to 150K members in this group and if they are any indication of what people looking to get into detailing are flocking towards, those brands are just getting started.

There is a feeling of a marketing scan with the multi-year coatings when needing decon, touch, and boosters as much as one would need if they used a one year product.

It is more so as marketing by dealers.

As for the Pan coating video, later posts stated that Pan could post so admins must have over reacted. It was a typical "alarmist" video even though the creator says he is a Pan supporter. The goal was to attract a lot of attention.
