what's the last car care/detailing video you've just watched?

There is a feeling of a marketing scan with the multi-year coatings when needing decon, touch, and boosters as much as one would need if they used a one year product.

It is more so as marketing by dealers.

As for the Pan coating video, later posts stated that Pan could post so admins must have over reacted. It was a typical "alarmist" video even though the creator says he is a Pan supporter. The goal was to attract a lot of attention.
I've been following via the FB group. Never posted, only lurk.

The whole thing is absurd and a big overreaction from THOR. Some of their own cult members called out the "low spot" BS. There's a few that are so blatantly sucked into the cult they go into defense mode ready to pounce any criticism. I'm sure you see all this too in these groups.

The clearance of ADS went so poorly, I think the post was merely removed to protect the "integrity" of the sale for all current Pan products. I bet he's got V2 coming this quarter. He's due up on the brand promotion rotation.

Pan has responded. I agree mostly with what he says, when referring to ceramic coatings in general. There are a 1000 variables that could cause a coating to show weakness in isolated areas. With that being said, Pan’s coating, or any of these consumer focused coatings aren’t going to to make it anywhere near 8 years and they know it.

In his explanation he said " when isolated areas behave differently, it's normal and responsible to explore all possible variables- including application technique, environment, dwell time, and product behavior".
Anyone notice he did not include "all possible variables" as there was no mention of possible product failure or the possibility that his product doesn't hold up to its claims.
As I recall it was not isolated as the problem existed on several areas of the vehicle.
I consider Pan somewhat of a flim flam man. Wouldn't believe a word he says as he has proven himself to be a shyster.

I don't watch detailing content. Due to a post, I did search Pan....just to see what the latest videos showed. This changed my algorithm...and that 0G CR Spotless Mobile Solution video pulled up.

I did not watch it in whole....but looks like a glorified Sharkbite contraption. Strongly worded
I get why it exists in that format. It is kinda like shark bite in that its a DIY approach that can be offered as a retail solution

I don't know if I would have done it differently.....I have a huge stack of tools on hand. Torch, Propress....even fully kitted on Press Jaws for refrigerant and MegaPress. I think Propress is awesome but it looks like Chewed up Dog Terminations.

For just overvall smoothness, I would done that in torch but I can see why the Lego Style approach is the one being sold. It's just so hideous is what caught my eye. Not the content but the Thumbnail that caught my eye to watch what that ugly ass contraption was that was mated to the CR Spotless

Check out the brush idea/product from Griots Garage. Sounds like an excellent idea. Haven't checked out the prices yet but video says significant less than a new brush. Could just have a sectioned off plastic container for the heads/attachments so less storage space needed for brushes and maybe a little more organized.
Some new CarPro stuff as well.

Griot's aren't the first to do that with brushes, Meguiar's, Koch Chemie and Maxshine have been doing it for many years. I'm sure they are nice brushes, but I can't really see the switchable-head concept being a worthwhile thing, just buy a second or third dedicated brush, would be quicker and easier than messing about with heads.

I was wondering if this was new thing I or not. I had just never seen those before. The advantage that I see is the storage for multiple heads is more compact than storing a full sized brush.

I really like the concept, it's clever and Griot's have taken it further than the others I mentioned earlier. It could potentially be nice to have if you were space limited and weren't detailing for a living. However, I think it could also be cumbersome and a time waster for an all-day-every-day professional use situation. I know when I'm under the pump, I just want to grab and go, time is money ect.

This is the Maxshine attempt, based around the XL sized brushes I use for tyre dressings and wheel cleaning. The have a removable/interchangeable handle. They sell them as a kit with two heads and one handle, or sold separately with an included handle. So, I'm not sure the point of the interchangeability here. I've also had the handle loosen during use, which is a minor annoyance.

These are the Koch Chemie ones.......................the head is removable, but they are sold as a set with each having a handle. The difference with these is that you can removed the angled section to create a straight-shaft brush.

I saw the brushes on the Sema release and was intrigued for a hot minute....but for me, it would just be another thing to lose along the way.

To me it's a solution in search of a problem (or as we like to say in the marketing biz...a gimmick). The KCx with being able to change from straight to 45 makes a little more sense. Besides, the handle is the cheap part of the brush, why make it more expensive by putting threads on it.

I think I noted before that the Meguiar's brushes they had in 2004 had interchangeable handles. They had a tire brush, a wheel face brush, and a body brush (which I've never used). The first one had a short handle, the other 2 had a long handle. I've interchanged the handles, since I've had the brushes from 2004, exactly...zero times.
