what's the last car care/detailing video you've just watched?

Well color me impressed. Even though Chelsea has gone the THOR route I applaud her honesty with this ceramic coating. I can't remember the last time a Utoob detailer was given a product to "review" and didn't rant and rave about how great it was so I must give credit where credit is due. Chelsea still has her integrity. I also applaud Michael Hill, the chemist of CCI that I've spoken with multiple times, for allowing her to post this video unedited and welcoming the feedback. We've all seen all too often situations in which the company representative will blame the installer or make excuses for deficiencies in the coating but Mike welcomed the feedback and I'm sure he'll make the necessary adjustments to make installation easier.

I watched that video yesterday. I also applaud her for her honesty. Pay significant money for the right to buy and install your product? I don't think so. If the product is overstated, which the vast majority of ceramic coatings are then few would have the nads to tell the truth. I think Chelsea is one of the most honest and genuine of detailers on you tube.

I noticed the inside of the Qashqai's windshield was a bit hazy yesterday, and this popped into my feed today, perfect timing to try some new techniques, although I'll be using Ech2o at 200:1.

Interesting take on the use of dedicated glass cleaners vs rinse-less/waterless products.

As always, Bradley methodically explains the how and why's rather than "just buy our product, it's the best". I also note he's happy to plug products from other companies. Nor is he making silly claims about using brushes on paint, or bragging about "discovering" a new product................when in actual fact other brands have had something similar for a decade. I'll let you figure out who I'm talking about here.

Sheepstar strikes again. Noticed tire cleaning became a hot topic across DIY/THOR this week. Some people took it personal

Time to watch the video now. I've never gotten this involved in tire cleaning. I don't drive the ones I own enough and could probably be the guy who keeps a set long enough to crack. I certainly didn't need my gallon of ADS Tire Cleaner, I'll put it that way.

Didnt wstch the video. My 2 cents is a simple tire cleaning is sufficient especially when one is using a tire dressing after cleaning. 10 seconds per tire. No need for 2 cleanings, etc.
Nobody will ever be able to tell that you didnt spend five minutes and several applications of a specialized tire cleaner after the tire is dressed.

In that video he makes it seem as if peoples tires are only lasting 30k instead of the advertised 60k. As if it’s a widespread epidemic or something when in reality, unless I’m living under a rock, almost nobody ever complains about tires these days needing to be replaced due to premature wear or tire rot.

I personally use probably the most aggressive form of tire cleaner imaginable. So harsh that it’s not even a tire cleaner but rather laundry stain remover, Shout Grease Busting Foam on my own personal vehicles tires.

These tires ain’t cheap either when it’s time to replace them. $400 each and I have zero hesitation using Shout because it works so good that it’s touchless. It does no harm to the tires and neither does any tire cleaner that I’m aware of these days.

What degreaser/tire cleaner is known to cause premature degradation of the rubber or cause tire rot? I’ve never not once experienced or seen or even heard of such a thing.

I've kept my opinion out of it. I'm only here for the hobby of it! I use what I need when I need it and not once in my life have I run a tire down before the car was traded or sold off. I just can't see myself ever needing to care about this one. The social media threads got hot so I had to check it out at least.

My father has a few cars that have just been sitting outside with limited uv protection for probably 20-30yrs now. I'll have to check those tires and see what they look like.
