what's the last car care/detailing video you've just watched?

This video features a product line from a family owned detailing products company that has been producing detailing products for almost a century. That in itself is a breath of fresh air amongst all the private label/contract blended products which are bombarding the industry. Anybody use any of them? Might have to give a couple a try.

Their Interior and Exterior Dressing is nice.

I watched a Top Star video (he runs a mobile detailing in Las Vegas) and said he has a bucket with Dawn to put his brushes in so they self clean.

He said to be successful at the business you do not need to be the best detailer but a better businessman.

I like watching his videos as well. Especially like watching him spraying down the customer's door jambs with pw. I am not that confident to try that.

This seems to be the tool that was hinted at during TRCMA. I would have been happy with just a smaller version of the 3401, or whatever the cordless version of that is. Tools that try to do everything excel at nothing? This one even has a light built in.

I have watched too many. As for brand created. Adam's does a decent job but not for those that want a quick answer. Some can ramble as if padding.

Thoughts on price? Are we crossing into the $1k polisher threshold this year?!

No, it doesn't seem that way, looking at the price in Euro's at a couple of European stores it converts to about $630 USD. That's for the kit with all the eccentrics and the charger and 2 batteries. So I'd say when it gets here in the 24V version it's going to be in that $6-800 range, just like the other (larger) Flex polishers, but who knows, it could be more like the PiXiE which is going for $470 at Autogeek, although it seems to be out of stock right now.

I think it's going to be a pretty competitive market, there are the smaller "stick" types like the Rupes iBrid Nano, and all the knockoffs of that, that have the rotary/DA options, along with the Griot's Boss Micro and Flex PiXiE, and then the pistol-types, I guess the Rupes HLR-75 fits in there along with the Shinemates like that and the new range from Bosch.

If you didn't watch the video, this new Flex is a 3" max (backing plate) machine; it comes with 30, 50, and 75mm backing plates.

It's funny, if my original GG 3" wasn't such a dog, I might have wound up with a G8 at some point, and not really be interested in something like this Flex, although the cordless-ness is nice. I think I held off on the G8 to see if Flex was going to come out with something like this, and although this isn't really what I was expecting or hoping for (I was hoping for a mini version of the 3401, or I guess the cordless version, the XCE?), I'm anxious to see it in the hands of some reviewers. The only thing I really use the GG 3" for is sanding headlights, it works pretty well for that.

Has anyone tried Blackline chemicals yet?

I watched several videos by Charleston Detailing where he does a detail with just one brand. He has done some Canadian brand, DIY Detail, Adams. and a few others, Guess what? They all got the job done. The satisifed customer will not know. To me the major difference relates to how shiny you like tires.

He does some nice vids.

I have contacted The Rag Company and do not get timely responses on questions. They do not seem very aggressive. They must make plenty of something or just content with competitors like THOR.

That's weird for TRC. THOR screwed them over with the whole name thing but I've emailed TRC for one ridiculous question and they replied. As a result, all of my eyeglass microfiber comes from TRC. They were very helpful.

That's unfortunate that you had that experience.

Ok, now you have to tell us what kind of microfibers you use for your eyeglasses.
I think TRC does a good job of explaining the whole situation in the email.

I really wanted more of the freebies but no dice. The buttersoft (weird name) work very well for my cheap Warby Parker lenses. I don't recommend WP unless you have simple vision needs but I will say I ended up with 3 pairs of free eyeglasses by being a noisy customer.

After two horrible eye surgery experiences at a much younger age, I'm the worst consumer for eyewear. Sadly, I can self diagnose the smallest of vision changes to the point even eye doctors just trust me and don't fight it.

I have no depth perception... and played hockey as a goalie for the better part of my youth. I am irony.

For me it depends on the lenses in my glasses for which towels work best.

For my old glasses that had a top tier Crizal coating TRC's 12x12 mini-Gauntlet worked extremely well at cleaning, drying off after washing them, and never left any lint. Honestly, pretty much any towel worked well and didn't leave lint, but the gauntlet was my go-to towel after washing my glasses in the sink every morning.

With my new glasses with lenses from LensDirect (whatever their top tier anti-reflective coating is and Transitions XtraActive) I've only gotten lint free results with a FTW towel. There's a real lack of smoothness to the coating on these glasses, it's almost gummy, so it took a lot of trying to find a towel that didn't leave lint.

I've found the Crizal branded 8x8 cleaning cloth to be the best quick smudge clean up to keep in my car, backpack, etc. The suede coating applicator towels are good but not as good as the Crizal ones.

I think the gumminess is the anti-glare property of the coating.
It definitely is. I won't be using LensDirect again because of how the coating feels, and how easily it can be scratched despite the website's claims. I'm going to try somewhere else for my next pair, or just suck it up and pay the high cost of the optician's office who does my eye exam.

I saw an interview of Bradley at ADS and he is so low key compared to others. I gained a lot of respect on how he develops products.

Amazing how the 2 bucket wash is dead when pushing foam rise foam but then change to a soap called low foam "rinseless" magically a 2 bucket wash is great. My question is if mitts are so bad and you need a sponge why not use a sponge no matter what method.
