As title says i am looking for opinions on your favorite Bug and Tar removal products. Is there one that works on both..

Here is a list of the products I am looking at:

sonax bug remover
3d bug remover
turtle wax power foam bug and tar remover
lifter-1 bug and tar remover
stoner car care tar & sap remover
Schaeffer's Manufacturing 266 Citrol Cleaner and Industrial Degreaser

Well, like anything else, it really all depends on the severity. For most minor splatters, Stoners Tarminator is a top choice. And its available locally. I've never had a situation where it couldn't handle the job.

I have some old Turtle Wax tar remover (can't recall the bottle name) that has worked well for me too when I need more dwell time.

My recommendation is that you go pick up Stoners Tarminator right now from your local auto parts store (Harbor Freight carries it too) and try it for yourself. Then you'll know if you need to try anything else that you have to buy and have shipped to you.

Oh, and it removes asphalt sealcoating splatter from vinyl siding and aluminum gutters. In case you hire a sloppy company who is careless when they sealcoat.

Can't comment on an All-in-one solution as OP appears to be looking for. For tar I like Carpro's TarX (but I'm admittedly a Carpro fan so ymmv) and for bugs I use P&S Bugoff. I'll probably be using the latter for the rest of my life as, for reasons I don't recall, I bought a 128 oz bottle (I'm just an enthusiast, not a detailer)! Good thing it works well, LOL. :)

TAR-X
Bug squash

Yer not going to find one product that is great at both.

For me it's Stoner's Tarminator for tar and random, black road construction goo and Poorboy's World Bug Squash for bugs.

+1 for Stoner"s but the bloody stuff in Asstralia will set you back $18 a CAN

The Duragloss product works well, and the P&S product works great too.

I despise removing tar and bug deposits, so when I grab a product for this, I want it to work! As such, an combination bug & tar remover is always going to be a compromise.

For tar, I keep coming back to TarX because its strong, but not so strong that you worry about it on the paint.

For Tarminator, it's a bit more aggressive and I certainly use it with caution, that and Koch Chemie Eulex. Tarminator can also be used to remove baked on exhaust carbon.

Going by the smell of the various bug removers I have used, I get the feeling they are a much of a muchness. That includes Poorboys Bug Squash, Koch Chemie Insect & Dirt Remover, Carpro BugOut, Gtechniq W8 and P&S Bug Off. Take your pick, they are all work the same in my opinion.

Bug and Tar removers are by far the most frequent disappointments. At least that used to be the case. The one that I can count on, always, is Stoner Tarminator. As others have mentioned it is cheap and available at nearly every place that sells chemicals in aerosol cans. A can is $5 at Harbor Freight. I like to put the Tarminator on a microfiber and dab the spot. Once the spot is covered with product, I'll let it sit for a bit. Then I will wipe off with a moist towel with a rolling motion.

I just did the conversion from US to AUS dollars and in my area it's about $12 AUS. Not great, but still a bit cheaper. My can has been around for years. I'm pretty sure I bought it for quite a bit less pre-covid and pre-global inflation.

Funny how you get a bit of sticker shock when you go to replace something you've had for a long time. "I remember when I bought the last can it was only $.... Wait, that was how many years ago...?"

Hey great thank guys thats what I was looking for.. I will give stoner car care tar & sap remover a try and see how it goes. for bug I will try 3d bug remover and then others as needed if i am not happy.

Lately I have had a major bug problem, I have been trying a little of everything to remove the fly crap. I find what works well on fly $hit is Panel wipe.

Stoners Tarminator works great for tar, tree sap and bugs. For bugs only I like to use Poorboys Bug Squash. i spray the front of the vehicle with Griots Bug Shield and it makes the bug cleaning much easier.

I'm looking for Stoner Tarminator, but can not find a place in AUS that sells those.

Any idea, thanks.
