I like the Lake Country HDO Orange foam polishing pad if I’m mainly looking to polish and dealing with light swirls. If the main goal is paint correction then I like the Lake Country Microfiber Cutting pad or the Meguiars Microfiber Pads. I also like the Meguiars Burgundy foam discs, especially in 5” size with those foam ones.
Meguiars D300 is the 1st compound I reach for. Pairs perfectly with microfiber pads and it’s low dusting.
I’m really liking the Rupes yellow and they are slowly replacing all of my Lake Country pads as they wear out. I like the firmness of the foam, the middle-road cut level, and the shape that makes it easier to get into tight places or polish a narrow edge.
I use most of the ones mentioned. I recently bought the Buff and Shine Edge guard and love them. If they hold up as well as the others I will continue to use the exclusively. I really like the design and concept. New Buff And Shine Edge Gaurd Pads “A MUST HAVE” - YouTube
The Griots MF finishing pad is great for removing light defects. The LC orange is a good all around pad and leaves a nice finish. LC white or Griots yellow work fine for swirls and leave a nice finish.
