what's your weather currently like?

Our temps are about to drop twenty degrees (as we drive north five states). Currently 88F-66f ish here, in Montana it will be 68f-44F ish.

Our winter has been cold and wet, mostly. The meteorologists say it's because the water off the coast is about 3° warmer than normal for this time of year, leading to more moisture in the atmosphere, but we're now heading into a "drying trend", whatever that means.

I read about how the ice is actually stacking up in Antarctica, in direct contrast to what was currently believed to be happening

A cool spell is coming next week - a touch of autumn and no rain

You're making my head hurt. Hawaii is north of the equator...shouldn't it look the same? As opposed to Big Dave, who is upside down?
It was about half way between Dave's two points of the moon pointing up or down and my two points of the moon pointing left or right, depending on phase

I honestly didn't expend a lot of energy thinking about it

Our development was up the side of a mountain and our street lights were never turned on due to Maui county's rules on light pollution so we had amazing star gazing

I even saw a "moon bow" one morning about 4:00 AM when we got up early to go to the canoe races

I'm sure this is in line with other discussions we have had about sun angle and day length...apparently this stuff is too complicated for me.

Yeah, same thing happened to me when I went to the lake to watch the submarine races...or maybe that was something that happened in Animal House or Back to the Future. Canoe races, really? I guess that must be a Hawaii thing.

I just checked the latitudes...Hawaii is about twice as far south of me as you are north of me. So you have moved 30+ degrees of latitude. Dave is not quite as far south of the equator as I am north. What this all means...I'm not sure, but....
