what's your weather currently like?

I used to have an unwritten rule that the furnace can't be used till Novenmber 1st. Some years that worked out and some not. Some years it was pretty chilly in the house the last two weeks of October and some years my family would just wait till I left for work and then turn the furnace on.
We just turn the thermostat down to 66 in May and if it needs to come on it comes on

After it starts getting cold we turn it up to 68 during the day and back down to 66 to sleep

Perfect here 74° and sunny. Which is a little below normal. Coming up to best weather months of the year being September and October. Nice warm days and cool nights with not a lot of rain.

Now why isn't spring around September 21 when we start fall.

Australia and New Zealand follow the meteorological calendar, so the hottest 3 months are summer and the coldest 3 are winter, and the others are the others, and the seasons always start on the first of the month. Whereas you guys follow the astronomical calendar, basing your seasons off the longest and shortest days.

Does that mountain have a name, Chilly? Or shall I just refer to it as Chilly's Mountain?
That is Matanuska Peak, and it represents the westernmost end of the Chugach Mountain Range. They are east of me and are separated from the Talkeetna Mountain Range that is north of me by the Matanuska River valley that flows downs roughly east to west and then south into the Knik arm of Cook Inlet. The river flows from the Matanuska Glacier which cut the broad valley the river runs in that separates the two mountain ranges

Our borough (county) is Mat-Su Borough, named after the Matanuska and Susitna River Valleys that frame the area
