what's your weather currently like?

A very pleasant 25C/77f today, a little rain in the middle of the day, mostly clear tonight. Orion is visible here too, upside down of course, phone set for a 6 second exposure, and placed on the retaining wall leaning against the fence to keep it steady. Bonus satellite passing through Orion.PSX_20260216_211320.jpg

Orion was the code name Ford used for the FG Falcon during development. A lot of parts and labels have Orion on them. Take note of the part numbers starting with BGxxxxx, that's because Ford intended to use the BG code to follow the BA and BF models but later changed it to FG.

Our 'spring teaser' ended yesterday.
It was 50's (F) through the weekend into Tuesday and yesterday we got about 6" of snow.
Now it's supposed to trend downward to about 20F high this weekend.
Not terrible, but we seem to forget that it's only mid-Feb once those warm days show up.
Picture when I left from work yesterday. This was all brown yesterday morning.

38c out at Penrith for the Suppercars, is was "Free Friday" yesterday should of went.
When they used to have it at Sydney Olympic Park I could hear it from our house in Ermington, I also drove the track a couple of times, while it was being set up. We could also hear the concerts at the Stadium, U2 was the loudest.

The snow has started. Forecast right now is for about a foot of snow.

Hopefully that's all we get here. According to ABC New York you are at the edge of the same 12-18"(locally up to 24") band as we are in, but NWS is still saying 14-22" between now and when it stops midday tomorrow. We have 2-3" so far.

i'd say we have about 2" right now.

This was kind of like the frog boiling thing...early in the week it was "chance of snow", then it was a minor storm, and now we've got a full-on blizzard with perhaps historic snow totals. I'm pretty sure I don't have enough gas for my snow blower for 2 feet of snow...but with the weather fatigue and the slow buildup I've just been steeling myself for the storm without really preparing for it, if that makes any sense to anyone else.

Another dump of snow overnight. Just when everything was melted from the prior storm.
