Wheel brush - which one

If your pick is between those two, the Mothers brush is what you want. The CG one is for both wheel and tire. The Mothers one has feathered bristles that make it safer.
 
I really like my Mother's brush.

It's surprisingly soft and works really well.

I have a slightly stiffer and smaller brush for stubborn stains and smaller areas.

I use different tools/brushes for different tasks.



For the lug nuts, I use: Lug Nut Brush,Clean Wheel Brush,clean brake calipers, clean lug nuts, boar's hair wheel brush, best wheel brush, wheel lug nuts



For the wheel face. I use: Meguiars X3002 Microfiber Wash Mitt



For the wheel barrels, I use: Wheel Woolies 3-Piece Kit, wheel cleaning tools, wheel brushes



I also have the mothers brush which you posted above. It's a soft brush and does a good job as well. A lot of people also use the Speed Master brush as well for cleaning the barrels and between the spokes. I use it to clean the wheel wells.
 
The CG brush is garbage. I have both the wheel woolies and Speed Master (which I love).
 
I agree that green brush is too stiff for wheels. It's great for scrubbing tires though.

This brush is similar and better recommended to clean wheels.

But I don't use it for that. I use only use it to apply tire dressing.
 
Wheel Woolies.

Speed Master slings stuff all over the place with the bristles and misses a lot of the break dust. Better wear some safety glasses so you don't get wheel cleaner in your eyes with the SM brush.

This is a job for a Wheel Woolie, with WW I can clean each wheel in a matter of about 5 minutes.



 
My personal preference is using both the small and large speed master brushes along with the long handled version of that mothers brush you posted and one of my boars hair brushes for the lug nut area.

I have a set of wheel woolies and while they are a good product, they weren't a good fit for my purposes. The speed master is very happy to collapse and go into small areas while the woolies just don't.

Here's the important thing. How good of a job do you care to do? Is getting 95% of the dirt and brake dust off the face of the wheel good enough or do you want to clean the inner barrel and the intricate areas around the lug nuts and valve stem? If the answer to the 95% question is yes then that mothers brush is a perfect fit for you. I like the long handled one because it allows me to use two hands and put less stress on my right wrist. The bristles on it are also very soft and feathered at the ends.
