I am just curious to see what everyone is using on the plastic wheel wells. To clean and protect.

meguiars d101 apc diluted 1:3 then to protect i use a CG slik shine

I use APC to clean, any kind handy. And I use CG BareBones to dress. BareBones can be a sneaky good product IMO.

Megs hyper dressing is awesome!!! Its cheap and I think I diluted 4-1!!

I have actually started doing wheels, tires and wheel wells last.

-It saves me from using a 3rd bucket.
-Saves soap.
-I was getting water spots on the chrome wheels.
-Not using anything I am concerned about getting on the paint

My Yukon has enough clearance to squeeze my arm in there.
It's faster than a brush and seems to be more thorough.

I use the remaining Chemical Guys HoneyDew from the wash bucket with a black microfiber mitt, Mothers tire brush, Daytona Speedmaster Jr.

After letting it air dry, I follow-up with Griot's Undercarriage Dressing. It is inexpensive and leaves a great, dark black color. It also makes future cleanings much easier.

Meg's APC and then CG Barebones.. Noticed Meg's APC took off some of my black coating on the metal under my fender in the wheel well. Can see where I used the brush to agitate.

Meg's apc to clean with a mothers brush then Meg's hyper dressing to dress at 2:1

To clean, I use LA Totally Awesome. I coated mine with CarPro DLux. Months later, still amazing! Highly recommend this method.

I use Mothers wheel well brush and my soap bucket, scrub the well then rinse the well. After I'm done washing I'll use tire dressing on an applicator to finish the wells. It's a temporary routine but I'll probably change to something more appropriate now that I'm switching to Meg's products.

I use the large Wheel Woolie and an APC like LA Awesome to clean wheel wells. I pressure wash them first. As for dressings, unless they are highly visible, I skip it as it just attracts dirt.

Have you tried any other products?

I have some Dlux and have used it in smaller trim pieces, I just didn't want to waste it on the wheel wells.

But if it lasts for months might be worth it!

That only is advisable if you dry the car first.

If the wheels aren't too dirty, it works out nicely.

My wheels are never "too dirty"....what kind of AutoGeeker would I be if they were?

I actually do dry the paint and chrome while the wheel wells are drying.

A Kwazar type sprayer works great for the Griot's Undercarriage Spray...hint...mine are Black sprayers $, not Blue $$$...same company

CQuartz Dlux is awesome on plastic and rubber surfaces. I have coated most of those areas on my car and they look incredible!

I do feel that it's just a little too expensive for wheel wells. For those I use CarPro PERL and dispense it with a Solo 418 handheld pressurized sprayer. This stuff lasts for months!

Thank you for all the replies. I'm just trying to get a feel on what other people are doing in the world of detailing!

Purchased some Lata based on your reviews. Works amazing and dirt cheap. :xyxthumbs:

some apc to clean and water based dressing to dress works for me...

I have yet to try lots of different things, but I did find one product that I no longer used for its intended purpose, and rather than throwing it away, someone mentioned trying it on wheelwells, and that is ArmorAll foaming tire spray (or any similar product). Works relatively well in cleaning up the wheel wells.

Meg's apc and a mother's brush to clean and armor all tire foam to dress.
