When do we need to do ceramic coating to our car?

Hello! I'm from Indonesia, many auto detailers here offers people to do ceramic coating for their car, my question is:

1. Do we really need to coat our daily driven car?
2. What type of coating should we use for a premium car (ex. Ferrari, Lambo, or Mercedes and BMW)?

For a high end vehicle you listed, I would employ a customer to have PPF or paint protection film applied. However, a coating can be applied easier than PPF.

No...it is not necessary.

Well I'm happy there is a clear answer for this matter, because many auto detailer says that they have guarantees on their paint coating, if i mau ask, how long will typical ceramic coating can be last?

Thanks for your answer! Here in Indonesia, Scuto is one of the most popular coating in the market, but i heard sonax is starting to be popular also.
