Wonder if anyone else does this. I had to take my 96 SVT Cobra to my mechanic today, the AC clutch died. I bought my car last year from the previous owner who babied it. I take extra care of it. It has no door dents and I just buffed it out. Very few swirls or scratches for a 16 year old black car. I asked him to please take it in the service bay because I didn't want it sitting outside where it may get scratched or dented, he understood and took it right in. I also told him I just detailed it and if he needed to put a fender cover on it I have many micro fiber cloths in trunk please put them down first. Are you this protective of your car?

Pretty much!

I usually introduce him to my truck and point out that it's condition is better than new and I know this truck better than its mother. This sort of sets the tone for what I expect when I return.

Walking around the vehicle and discussing how pristine the finish is for the most part eliminates the possibility of; "OH, that scratch or dent was there when you brought it in."
