I just ordered an 1800 psi electric pressure washer, and I'll have it next week. I've never had a pressure washer before. What steps in the detail process does the pressure washer really speed up the process and/or make the job a lot easier?

I know it makes floor mats a breeze. I would assume it would be a big help on wheels, wheel wells, and bug/tar removal. What else?

Also, any tips or tricks for using it would be much appreciated.

Caked on dirt just flies off and dirt in hard to reach cracks easily blow right out. It saves time but I dont think it does anything a regular hose couldnt.I use mine to rinse the car and for a foam cannon.

I use it to pre-wash with a foam canon, clean wheels and wheel wells. Have never need it for floor mats. IMO it provides a safer wash vs speeding up the process.

^ I agree the pre wash with the foam cannon makes the wash safer.
Also like it for wheels, tires, bug removal, windshields, truck beds. All In all I feel like 15 mins with a pressure washer then moving to a two bucket method produces an overall better quality of wash on daily drivers.

Yeah, agree with most of above.
I don't think it helps me wash much quicker but it does seem safer & more thorough to me.
I use a foam cannon & then rinse to remove as much dirt as possible before touching the paint. While rinsing the foam off I make sure to attack all panel gaps, etc where dirt may accumulate.
Personally I don't think you could get those hidden areas quite as clean without a pressure washer...

It definitely does speed up washing wheels, tyres, wheel wells, floor mats, etc & also sometimes makes these areas easier to wash, requiring less agitation.

Don't get too carried away trying to remove tar & bugs, if they come off with your normal rinse, great! If they don't, don't be tempted to keep getting closer with the lance as you could do some damage...
Best to use a foam cannon &/or some stronger cleaner on those areas.
Also check any cars you are washing for flaking or peeling paint.
If it has already started a PW will easily start ripping shreds off...

Extremely dirty floor mats, dirty trunk carpet inserts, engines (puts out less water than a hose and is safer), truck beds, wheels, wheel wells, front grills, door jams. It's not that a power washer is completely necessary, it just makes some things much easier.

I think you'll be really happy with your purchase. :xyxthumbs:

Neglected door jambs, trunk and hood troughs, radiator fin cleaning, acid washing (flashing) bare aluminum, flooding paint during the wash process.

I'd say more ECO FRIENDLY uses LESS water then standard garden hose.
great for wheel wells, wheels and tires, front end bumpers (bugs), and grills as well as wetting vehicle as pre rinse.
