Which brand of car wax is the best?

I was wondering what is the absolute best car wax that provides the best protection, is long lasting and suitable for most of the car. Besides the 2016 BMW 5 Series, I also own an RV for camping trips across the country with my family. Normally, we use Meguiar’s product for waxing our RV after researching and reading some good piece of info about it on the internet. It worked great with my RV to slow down the oxidation and make an ultraviolet shield. But I've not used it for my BMW. So what is the wax that you usually use for your car? Any suggestion?

You'll get a lot of different answers. What properties do you value the most? That can drive the discussion too as some products last longer than others, but they give up a bit in appearance while other waxes look amazing, yet will last a very short period of time. What is your budget? There are a huge range of products on this site alone which are very good and have a large span in price.

As you do your reading, it's worth becoming familiar with the differences between waxes, sealants, and coatings. You'll probably be surprised to learn many of the products you think is a wax and/or market themselves as a wax are actually sealants.

I've been running discussion forums since they were invented, since 2002, that's 16 years, so I see things like this.


My guess is you're spamming us simply because you coded the text to be a blue clickable link versus just inserting the link. Just a guess. As time goes by, your posts will be read and evaluated.

I scanned your reply and did not click on the link you included. I just returned to work today from the Dr. Beasley's Roadshow Class and have done nothing but play "catch-up" all day so thinking fast, typing even faster and still behind.

Yep.... that link goes to an identical thread on a BMW forum. I took a screenshot of Taylor90 aka tomhawkins post on the BMW thread, note the part I circled in pink - their Moderator removed his Spam link.

So my guess is, and this is just a guess, he gains by getting people to go to the link he's sharing. That's called Spamming.

At the top of good products they are all great. IMO for your needs, I'd use Polymer Net Shield. It's easy to use and perhaps the closest to a coating in terms of performance that I've used.

Get ready to read through countless opinions all of which will be right too.

I keep that Spam Avatar image in a folder on my computer and award it when appropriate. I'm not really a Moderator on this forum but once in a while I intervene, mostly because I'm the most active on the forum and probably have the most experience with forums so I see what others don't normally see day-in, day-out, like the blue clickable link that went to the affiliate website that is set-up to LOOK like a review website but really it's a doorway website to a store on Amazon.


I have a pretty keen radar for problem people and problem topics.


But yeah, I keep that Spam Avatar handy...

For the life of me, I've never figured out the mindset of a spammer? The majority of us are way to smart to >click< on their wares and try to purchase them?

Yeah, well, it's like with those "I'm a prince and I need your help with this $10 million..." junk emails, you think, who would ever reply to this? I guess someone must or they wouldn't be sending them...and even if only .01% reply...if they send out a million emails they'll get 100 replies.
